Izuela Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) I installed the game of steam just a week ago and it randomly freezes or crash when I play. Sometimes it happens after only 10 minutes, other times I can play for hours. I would say it happens about once every 30 minutes on average. Usually it's a freeze (frozen screen, game wont respond, I close it with task manager) but sometimes it will crash straight to desktop. Other than that there are no odd graphical or sound clitches when it freezes/crashes. It mostly happens when running/walking/sneaking around, but sometimes when loading a new area, too. I've only crashed once while in combat. My DesktopOperating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1Processor: Intel i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHzMemory: 8192MB RAMGPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 My mods installed and are running just fine (once I figured out how) as far as I can tell. Installed with Nexus Mod Manager, when possible. Also New Vegas Stutter Remover which I have no idea if it's working or not. I know Fallout is not the most stable game (heck I would frequently crash it on XBox), but I'm hoping something can be done, as it is close to being too anoying to play right now. But as I progress I start to crash more and more. Anyway to fix this? What's weird is that it's not happening while in combat. No, it's usually when I'm roaming around or even when just standing still. If it's going to keep getting worse it will soon be unplayable. I've made some mod changes since the first post. Most notably I got rid of POCO BUENO texture pack and added Mission Mojave, but some other changes too. UbinTimor Posted August 28, 2013 Share Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) my game has been doing that a lot too. every time I go into the atomic wrangler it crashes, but most of the time it'll crash every 15 minutes or so, I tend to just save every 5 minutes just to be on the safe side, I think it might be because of the Nevada skies mod, because I uninstalled it a little while ago and my game hasn't crashed for a long while either that or I think it's the mod that adds more people to the wasteland.modding this game gets really frustrating I've never had to deal with this before. Sometimes the game will crash if I update mods in which I have to spend hours updating the same mods over again until the game finally works. sometimes it'll be completely fine when I play it then I'll exit out to look up more mods, start up the game (with out the mods installed), and the game will crash when I open it (it tends to crash about 5 times before it starts to work again). I remember several times where I had to uninstall and re-install all my mods to look for one or 2 mods that was making my game crash, it's extremely frustrating to spend hours on that only to get at most 20 minutes of game-time. if you have the mod loader try updating your mods for a good hour or so, it might help. This goes away when I lower my master volume to zero, but starts f***ing up again when I raise it. I'm only running 50 mods or so, the usual stuff: project NevadaNevada skiesiHudNMC's Texture packAdvanced recon seriesetc... I will post my load order later if anyone needs it. But know that I have run BOSS, changed core threading options, installed mission Mojave but that just screwed everything up worse(Project Nevada breaks).
