Help needed: "glass lens/magnifier-effect" Possible?

There is a way to fake this. But, you don't have things looking normal around the outside of the lens. You use a black picture with a round transparent hole in the middle then use the FOV command to fake a zoom in effect. A great place to start your research would be a spyglass mod. There are a few here.
