CryoticShell
Hello everybody! I was hoping to start a Skyrim series for youtube, just to have something on my channel, give it a purpose, but whenever I try to record all I get is a black screen with sound. I use Camtasia Studio 8, and it does this for Starcraft II also. What do you guys recommend?
OozyGorilla
Fraps and Dxtory are both good for recording games. I prefer Dxtory because it allows you to record game sound and my microphone in seperate tracks so I can change volume of each one indivitually. If my game sound is too loud, I can turn it down without affecting my commentary. With Fraps, they're combined into one so if one is too loud, you're screwed. Just getting started, I'd probably recommend Fraps as Dxtory can be a little more involved.
N7R
Elgato Game Capture HD is what I use. Great capture device that can not only capture console gameplay but pc as well. Best part is it doesn't affect the pc cpu / gpu at all since it's a seperate device. Edited July 26, 2013 by N7R
Sadron82
Fraps (bought) for recording and Windows Movie maker for video editing. Can't really afford for any special programs. Fraps files may be big, but I record them as half sized.
FiftyTifty
If you have an AMD GPU, RadeonPro has a recording feature that has a very small framerate impact, high quality and relatively small file size (due to encoding).
