Vortex couldn't find Skyrim and disabled all mods

So, the problem i had today (never had it) was that, went into the Vortex app, to check updates and etc..

 

But i didn't saw Skyrim anywhere, so i searched around the computer, turns the .exe had problems so got deleted.

 

After i put it back again, all the mods i use got disabled.. i re-enable them all again but when i load my savegame, the game just crashes and goes out to windows..

 

 

Of course, i loaded the 1st save i had (clean, since it's the prisoner one, unless i need to re-watch the intro)

 

That one worked, but still when loaded the last one crashed again..

 

Honestly don't know what to do, but guess i losted that save?...

 

 

isn't there a way to recover the data of X save? meaby that would fix it..

Try a save game cleaner it might help. I'm sorry about your situation that sucks. Anways the sad reality is that some mods can't be enabled and disabled

 

 

Throwdown a list of mods you're currently using, after reading your description of each mod and only list the ones that have issues installing and uninstalling.

 

An example would be Serna Dialogue Add on.

 

For the save cleaner mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34601. I'm not sure if it will work or not for you.

 

Anyways good luck feel free to reply if you get stuck again and maybe we can figure something out or someone else in the community can help.

 

It could also be mod load order. Try LOOT.

 

And what does your save file say corrupted or crash to desktop?

 

You might also want to go through each mod individually with a notepad and write down the ones that work and don't . Add a mod or two and then keep track of your list of mods you added until you crash.

When you say 'put it back', did you re-install Skyrim SE from Steam? Did you edit the Skyrim Special Edition launcher on Vortex's dashboard, once you put it back, so Vortex knows where it is?

 

AFAIK, any mods you had installed will affect even the initial prisoner save, so you should see a message about which mods/esps are missing when you try to load it.

Tried the save cleaner, it didn't work at least for my main save (well i only have 1..) i'll try that LOOT you say (never used it)

 

Also my Save doesn't say anything, just loads some time and then crash to desktop without say anything...

 

on Vortex i have the same SKSE64 log about 1 mod (but it's usual according to the mod page on Nexus and since day 1 i had that problem with that mod.. so isn't anything really since i spent more than 100 hs with that notification)

 

i use 280 mods (Most of followers.. almost all of them honestly) but all worked fine till Vortex didn't see where i have the SkyrimSE.exe

Yes i had to do it all from 0 basically.. (almost) check vortex, later it saw where i put it..

 

I can launch the game and it stays loading my Main save a little before crash to desktop..

 

The Prisoner Save works for example, i reached outside Helgen without problems.

 

 

I'll try to check everything but like i mentioned..

 

 

Before Vortex coudln't find the SkyrimSE.exe (i ran a check on all files with anti-virus etc) everything was fine.. i re-enabled all the mods since i really didn't touched anything and yet.. can't play with my Main save.

 

 

I'll see what to do meanwhile, meaby i just need to start from Zero again..

 

So far i checked (by the time i message this) can't use 20 of my 40 saves on my main character.. (meaby all honestly)

Vortex uses an included version of LOOT to auto-sort plugins, which you can alter by by changing dependencies on the plugin page, and by dependencies on the mods page.

 

The plugins page has some good info on potential problems under the 'flags' column, specifically the 'warnings', 'incompatible', and 'LOOT warnings' flags. Check these out, if you haven't already.

When there's an error Vortex throw me a message about it, still on this one i was talking about the effect of SkyrimSE.exe that couldn't be found, in the end i fixed it but now i have another problem.

 

That's why i created another post about it.

 

So for now you can say this one is "fixed" more or less, clean install again just in case.. still thanks for the reply.
