I just ran into an issue where my entire Skyrim interface has changed to Italian. It happened after I installed the latest version patch (1.9.32.0.8). I am not using Steam.

I did, admittedly, install both the Italian string files and the Translate_[Language].txt files that came with the patch (which I got from here, I believe) - I just moved everything in one shot. However, I went back and deleted the Italian language files when I noticed the problem:

Skyrim_Italian.DLSTRINGS

Skyrim_Italian.ILSTRINGS
Skyrim_Italian.STRINGS

Update_Italian.DLSTRINGS

Update_Italian.ILSTRINGS

Update_Italian.STRINGS

The only remaining String files are the English versions of the above files. I even deleted the Translate_English.txt and Translate_Italian.txt files. In fact, the only way the game marginally works is if I keep, of all things, the Translate_Italian.txt file installed - some parts of the interface will then appear in English, but with a $ in front of them, and most of the game remains in Italian.

The mods I am using are as follows, and I can't find anything in any of them that would be causing these problems...

Update

Dawnguard

Heart Fires

JaySuS Swords

hothtrooper44 Immersive Armors

Dragon Souls to Perks

follower map markers

KTX Complete Skyforge

Smakit House Markers

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Unread Books Glow

Immersive Weapons

SkyrimUI

...Help, please? I have no idea what else to try...

What you got is called a Pirate version - this is the BIG problem using a 'non steam' version. IF your version is legal, you can register it through steam and get the LEGAL patch. Which actually works.

Until you can show you have a legal version - Banned for piracy
