Using armors from a mod to replace Vanilla armors

I am a noob to the modding community as I have always been a console player, but I am just wondering how I can use a mod's armor and make it take the place of an existing Vanilla armor? As an example, I like Hothtrooper44's "Dragon Knight" armor but would really like to use it to replace the Ebony armor. Any help is greatly appreciated.
