Confused?

I've used NMM for years and decided to try this , it's like trying to learn another language . Why can't it be at least similar ? Why can't i install my preferred animations after XPMSE ? The only decent female animations for SSE are attached to the Seven base body mod , and Vortex is refusing to let me install it so that i can use the animations i want . And where am i supposed to put SKSE ? In NMM there was a very obvious place to open the data folder from . If I could get some help figuring it out I'm sure it would be easy enough to remember , but I'm not a millennial and never even owned a computer until i was 38 years old . It seams like the developers of this were all born with computers , or something because every one in the comments claims it's easy to use and the best thing ever ?

NMM and Vortex aren't similar is because they are made by two different teams.
Vortex is easier to use because it does most of the work for you.
NMM does nothing except download and install stuff.

What do you mean "Can't install Preferred animations after XPMSE"?

Just install XPMSE, then install your preferred animations.

You install SKSE with Vortex, it puts it in the correct place.

Being a Millenial has nothing to do with understanding computers or mod managers, I got my first computer (a Commodore 64) back in 1982 when I was 19.

here's a couple of observations.

1. don't title the post "?". Just don't.

2. vortex is not nmm, nmm is not vortex.

if you'd done your homework - and you need to do your homework, you would have found several years worth of knowledge in the support forum. you would have found links to you tube channels that can help you get going. you would have found answers to common problems very easily. and the issues you're certain to face are just that common problems.

3. if you have issues trying to get going - and all the resources i mentioned in option 2 aren't helping you (unlikely but there you go), then there's a forum titled vortex support where you can put up a post with details and you'll get help from people who have been helping users for a few years now.

4. if you do take advantage of the forums, learn to write a message in a friendly and non-confrontational manner. your problems are yours and yours alone because you've not even done the basics and expect everything in vortex to be exactly the same as nmm - see point #1

5. you are expected to know just a few basics about how your game is set up and how to mod it - no mod manager, not even the world's greatest mod manager, NMM could just simply do stuff out of the box. you had to provide it with some information. guess what, vortex needs the same information. its just that the screen is a different colour.

the rest of your post is, well, horrible. do not take your frustrations at your own shortcomings out on other people. help yourself to understand. no-one owes you anything.

if you want support - as in you have an actual problem - vortex support is where you need to go. i look forward to your opening post, where a polite request for help will be well received and you'll be set on your way in no time at all.

Bit of help for your confusion.

Why can't i install my preferred animations after XPMSE ? The only decent female animations for SSE are attached to the Seven base body mod , and Vortex is refusing to let me install it so that i can use the animations i want .

- No Mod Manager would prevent you to Install any Animation Pack. Check your Animation Pack and Installation Guide. Check your Mod Managers manuals to be sure how exactly each thing works like Installations.

- Animations require a Behaviour Generator. That would be either FNIS or Project New Reign - Nemesis Engine. Check Installation Instructions for each and how to use the Generator its pretty much fast and automatic. Also you can use these Frameworks inside your Mod Manager by pointing to the executable. In NMM for example that would be the (Tools) checkbox but it doesn't support many of them, Vortex does.

- No Animation is tied to a certain Body Mod. Body Mods are Skeleton/ Meshes and other assets whilst Animations are Behaviour files. You can use any Animation with any Body Mod. So the cause of your issue is not XPMSE but the process with which you try to install Animations.

And where am i supposed to put SKSE ? In NMM there was a very obvious place to open the data folder from.

- Similar method you use for pointing your Mod Manager to an Executable like the Animation Frameworks i mentioned after you installed them properly so you can run the .exe via Mod Manager. Again this is similar but different for every Mod Manager.
