[LE] applying racemenu body paint to a non standalone follower

I'm trying to apply body overlays from frecklmania to an npc in the creation kit. Is there a way of having it just be a requirement instead of merging them to skin textures? Never dealt with body paint so I don't know where to start.

Well if this is a permanent-ish appearance you want, you can edit the skin nifs by duplicating the trishapes of the body area/s you want an overlay on, and add an Alpha Property and FloatController to them. You dont need Racemenu then either, its just built into the mesh itself. Can elaborate if this suits you

I'm not the OP but I would love for you to elaborate, please! I'm losing my mind because I want to turn my favorite character presets into followers and I have no idea how to make the bodypaint overlays from my numerous racemenu mods apply in CK or Nifskope. Also, I'm going to scream because I can't figure out how to get the hair color right. I have an Argonian with yellow feather hair but there's no way to get it looking right in CK. I googled around and saw that you can set the color in Nifskope instead...except when I go to look at the hair tint numbers in Nifskope, they are 1.064, etc. instead of the standard RGB colors (155, 190, 71 for the yellow hair) and I have no idea how to make it look right. So any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm not planning to upload my followers so I don't want them to be standalone, since that seems like a lot of extra work and also takes up more space. I just want them to use the mods I already have installed, but I can't find any helpful information on how to do that.

Got me kinda curious now especially for SE where SKSE/RM is a bit handicapped right now

 

So I just played around with one from back when. I might be forgetting a step I did before but this one doesnt work with texture swapping, and apparently if XPMSE is installed they dont work then either... Anyway I'll play with it though and update if I get around those obstacles since yeah could be handy for AE
