New Dialogue(?)

Okay don't shoot me, I just got back into inquisition a few days ago after over half a year of not playing.

Dragon Age 4 has been teased mercilessly, and I noticed a new section in the Options menu, 'Trials'. I have never ever seen this before until now.

After the beginning of the game where you can go around Haven, talking to Varric, I noticed he has dialogue I have again, never EVER heard. Am I late to the party?

Example: when you bring up Bianca, the real Bianca, he usually says, "It's the one story I'll never tell."

Now? He says, "There was-or is-a girl. And I was sworn to secrecy. If the Carta or her husband finds out, it'll be bad."

Another example: First time I approached him, he said, "Need something, or are you here to admire the dwarf?"

Has this always been there? So far its the ONLY dialogue change I've noticed. Is it due to Dragon Age 4 or, again, has it always been there?

Thank you kindly!

You can read more about them here: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Trials. They were available with the Trespasser DLC.

Varric's responses to being asked about Bianca are approval-dependent. He has three possible answers (friendly/warm/neutral). You got the friendly response.

He also has different greeting barks that are approval-dependent. The dwarf admiration line is also a friendly-conditional line.

AFAIK the companions' approval-dependent lines in their hub conversations are part of the base game.

Oh thank you kindly! I don't know how I got approval so quickly, but I'm glad to experience something new! Thank you again
