How do I make sure my script extension goes to the right drive?

I'm extremely new to modding so please be patient with me.

I recently got a new drive because my old one was getting full, I uninstalled Steam and Skyrim from my old drive and downloaded them to my new one. However, when I redownloaded my script extension for Skyrim Special Edition, it went to my old drive. I'm not sure if that would have an affect on how things run, but when I extracted the files and added them to my Skyrim folder and then ran the game, I hit ~ to make sure it was running but nothing appeared in the command box.

Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

Also, I want Vortex to be on the same drive as Steam and Skyrim, would I have to download the custom install location version? It says to only use it if you know what your doing and I definitely do not lol

Any and all advice is extremely helpful!

Concerning Vortex you may want to post your question on the Vortex forum on Nexus.

When you say "script extension" are you referring to skse 64?

This is the Legendary forum, might be a good idea to post on the SSE forum.

SSE just updated to the Anniversary Edition which undoubtedly had an affect on your game.
