A Massive Mod Idea

I’ve always wanted to learn how to mod but lack the time and will to do it even though I’ve had Many Ideas and this one’s bigger then any other and would even pay some money for it.

 

My Idea is to combine a number of features from other Skyrim mods. Here are some of the mods I’m interested in combining features but if this Massive mod happens it would be the choice of the modders and voting upon by many fans/supporters.

Become your own king in King of Riverhelm the Return!

This mod was once an abandoned project by Raymarine/Reflex101. The original version was good, however the castle exterior still needed much work, and had no interior. When I saw the potential of the mod, I decided to carry on this undertaking alone; since then, I have put in around 500 work hours and over 40 all-nighters. You do not accomplish something great without an equal amount of effort, determination, and sacrifice; I believe I have done it, and I will continue to do so. I am ambitious; small deeds do not satisfy me, and I believe that, for many, Riverhelm is that one dream mod, and I wish for you all to have a good game.


What's in this mod ?


Have you ever felt that the rewards in the game pale in comparison to the deeds and quests that are asked of you?
If so, this mod is for you. You can now own your very own fortress and rule it as its King. Collect taxes, salaries, and feel like a true noble! If that gets boring, go on up to the arena to watch or participate in a battle. Want more action? Go down to the sewers and fight the Crokers, a tribe of great lizardmen. Still not satisfied? Ever want to defend your castle from an invasion? Well now you can, just by talking to the guards at the gate! Want a place to store all your trophies and other accolades? Well there's a secret temple within the castle with massive storage space just for you! Are the guards' armors not up to your standards? No problem, become the King of Riverhelm and talk to the General in the castle hall and replace it with another type of armor!

You can do all that and much, much more with this mod.


Location between riverwood and whiterun

To buy titles, go talk to the Baron in the castle hall.

1 - Buy a mine inside the castle. Cost 15,000 gold, Income 1,500 gold

2 - Buy the title of Knight of Riverhelm for 15,000 gold and collect the salary of a knight! Includes a beautiful manor to live in!

3 - Become the King of Riverhelm by buying the title for 50,000 gold.

4 - A giant, imposing fortress with the grandeur worthy of the envy of other kings! lol

5 - When you purchase the fortress and become the king, you will gain access to the power crown (don't worry, it won't unbalance the game!). The crown is located in a display case in your bedroom.

6 - Ability to collect city fees.

7 - Four attractive Knights who will become your followers.

8 - A treasure room with many places to display your weapons, including mannequins for your armor.

9 - Your very own court jester.

10 - Vendors with abundant gold to sell your items to.

11 - More than 100 new NPCs.

12 - A lore-friendly fortress to enhance your Skyrim immersion experience.

13 - Beautiful view of Whiterun from your personal tower.

14 - Shop for ingredients from Maya.

15 - Baker who sells a special Riverhelm pie that grants 100 health points!

16 - Trade goods at the tavern with the barkeep.

17 - The guards will now give greetings to their lord (includes an animation).

18 - A stable containing two horses (needs the title of King/Knight to own the horses).

19 - New unique armor for your army!

20 - A new armor for the King of Riverhelm (Armor is located in a chest in your room).

21 - A new unique shield with a coat of arms for your army!

22 - New home interior

23 - A court magician who sells items and spells.

24 - A setvant who sweeps the great hall daily.

25 - A very big Arena !

26 - New lizardmen enemies, the Crokers.

27 - A large sewage area where the Crokers are located.

36 - Option to change the armor of your soldiers by talking to the Major General in the main hall (requires the title of King for this option).

This mod if people like it should also start a fund razing to help the Modder’s etc. it would also be an interesting idea to release this mod on one of skyrims launch anniversaries.

 

I would also like to create a new world/region for this that I call Dragon Born Valley. This will add a massive Valley in a mountain range between skyrim and another region. At the start of the series of quests to meet a caravan/settlers that are heading to the valley through a narrow canyon/cave system. Then as you get through the settlers eventually set up 2 towns and a massive city. A town at the main entrance to the valley for trade and defense. The second one is a farming town. The city is along the coast next to an old falling apart dwemar castle that can become a customizable player home. The castle and towns can be upgradable by player choice and ability’s such as for vampires, or by basic class house decoration. Each upgrade adds stations or items to use. The valley starts out as a frozen wasteland but at you go through the mods quest you change it by using old devices and upgrades. The player can also buy mines, farms, taverns, etc and earn money from it. This is only a basic idea and can be added to.

Multiple Mines, tombs and abandoned ruins.

 

New factions/guilds added to this mod. The Main faction that is added is the settlers/kingdom that is started by the dragon born. this faction can be upgraded and add features etc. The faction military can also be improved upon and have a wider range of soldiers with each Guild that is added. The player once in control of the valley, castle, and towns Can invite the games guilds and a few custom ones such as hunters guild. once invited these guilds build a guild hall in the city. Thieves guild underground, Hunters guild on city outskirts, Vampires (if one) adds a clan manor, Dawnguard (if member) Manor/fort, Braves a massive tower on a island just of city and castle coast (can be upgraded to have bridge to castle and/or city), Assassins, Mage college, Bards college, Adventurers Guild where you can find a number of followers, Historian Guild adds a massive College/library that connects to the mage and or bards colleges if built, mechasmith guild adds a massive forge and ability to build Dwemar artifacts/followers, Blacksmith guild adds more gear to game and able to teach blacksmithing skills/adds perks over time, (may add more guilds).

 

Older Version Idea:

 

The main quest starts out with a anouncment at many of the city's that a caravan of settlers (mixed races) is heading out to a newly discovered valley. The caravan is looking for people to help out on this quest with either weapons or money. The Dragon-born hears about this and heads off to help. the Caravan Meets at the entrance to a cave or pass that leads to the valley.

the pass is a 10 to 30 min dungeon escort fighting basic cave monsters. They reach the other side and scout out the area to find a place to settle. the valley has river starting at a water fall that slowly heads out to a small beach surrounded by cliffs that would make for a good city/ castle deference. There is a forest and wide grass land area.through out the valley there are caves, dungeons, and some old long forgotten ruins.

At this stage the construction of the settlement requires materieals and the choice of two or three things to build/add of a Castle(player home), port, market,village, walls, barracks, towers, etc. may be to much but have it as simple as have to chose out of the designs. the overall constructions takes a number of in game days.

the Main quest goes on as allies and enemies are made of jarls, guilds/factions. the main quest has the creation of either a few new factions or one. the Dragon-Guard that take up arms for the city and its ruler the Dragon-born. they have custom armors and crest.

This is the basic idea may edit later for more details or others Ideas. I have just started to learn how to mod so I will not be able to do this.

Well there are two major flaws with your plan. Number one: Im fairly certain there is a cap to the size of the mod that you can upload (5GB). Correct me if Im wrong but im pretty sure Ive seen that before. Number two: You would have to get permission from every single mod creator and I can say right now you will not get permission from all of them. For example, it is highly unlikely that Alexander Velicky will give you permisson to use his mod (more like masterpeice) in a group of other mods. Why? Because he spent thousands of hours on this mod and hes not going to let some random modder to take all of his work along wtih dozens of other modders work. Sure some modders will let you use it, but if I was Velicky in this case, I would say no. Ideas like this have been tried before and in some cases they work, but most of the time they don't.
