The Floating Hair Bug

Hey folks,

Can anyone explain me this? I tried to use a SG Hair style on my custom follower but the creation kit gives me an error about empty .tri files and the hair is floating above the npc's head.

I'm having a MUCH less extreme issue. Both the hair mods I use are, apparently, no longer available because neither have any kind of download page which might offer explanations for why the hairdos aren't connected to the character's scalp. If you turn the head slightly you can see there's a gap between the head and the hairstyle... NO ONE has offered an explanation...

I have had this problem for quite a while, and there is literally not one single answer to this in existence as far as Google is concerned. I'd like some sort of answer but judging by how long this has been open and unanswered I'm not optimistic. The only difference for me is that I'm trying to use the CK to add the hair NOT to a single NPC, but to a custom race that only has one hair option in character gen--and in the preview, the Apachii hair I'm trying to add just floats waaaaay above the head.

I know there are probably rules against bumping, but considering there doesn't seem to be one answer to this problem that has ever been posted on this or any other site--and I have done search after search after search, if there was some reply somewhere I would have found it by now--I think it's too terrible a thing to make an effort to get some answers by making sure the thread is actually seen. If you see this thread, and you read it, and you have ANY info at all that could remotely help in any way, shape or form, however far-fetched, I don't think it's too much to ask to say SOMETHING.

I don't mean to sound rude or pushy, but I'm sort of frustrated about this.
