Hello there fellow gamers and gamergirls. First of all, i use 18+ mods, so adult content, so please dont check this out if you arent above the age. Thank you.

So now to my issue.
ive been playing fallout 4 modded for a while now, but just recently started using vortex mods.
those are around 78 mods now, and apperently my game cant handle it.
Every time i start the game now, i get to the menu screen, and then it dies after pressing continue.
Well, i get to the loading screen, but it crashes there.
Now id love to know if there are any fixes you guys may got me to help me out. mods are as follows

you're going to be better off asking in the game forum. this is for issues with vortex.

some things to consider

1. those screen shots don't offer anything useful

2. if you're crashing on loading - something is missing

to fix that - go back to the beginning.

1. disable and purge all your mods

2. make sure your data directory is empty. if it isn't you've got some files in there that vortex doesn't know about. - delete the data directory.

3. get steam to validate your game files - this will create a new, empty data directory.

4. start the game - does is start normally? if so - congratulations you have a stable base game. alt +f4.

5. at that point, i'd complete all the starter quests, leave the vault, do the sanctuary quests with codsworth up to the point that he sends you to concorde.

save the game at this point - this save will be you in sanctuary, all starter quests done - no mods loaded.

6. install a single mod. deploy. start the game. does it start? do you get the message about mods being installed/achievements disabled? if so - good.

7. save the game. quit. add a few more mods - not all mods - just a few at a time. start the game? does it start normally? is the game playable? if so - good - alt + f4. repeat.

that's mod install/problem solving 101.

if you're still getting issues - go to the mod pages - look for mods with loads of bug reports and not many fixes. remove them.

if you remove mods - you can't just pick up from where you left off. you need to go back to the save you took between steps 5 and 6. this is your stable game save. if you add a mod and remove it, the game is compromised. for your own sanity, its best to go back to the stable save and rebuild your mod load order.

future things to consider

once you have a stable game, do not add or remove mods from it - this introduces instability and could end up corrupting your game. this is an empirical fact.

if you can't resist adding a mod to a game you are playing - make a save before you add the mod - if your game breaks - you can go back to that save and try to carry on without the mod added.

but you would get better support in the game forum.
