Some of our members took advantage of the fact that it is possible to include links to external image hosts in the descriptions of images uploaded to our public Image Share (Image Library) and Supporters Image Share section. While most of these users do it the right way, certain transgressions prompted us to clarify our rules regarding content published in our Image Share sections (public and Supporters).

 

You should note that if you add links to your image descriptions, the linked content must comply with both our image share rules and any other content related rules applicable to file uploads. This means, that

 

• you may not link to content that would not be accepted on our file servers. This rule also implies that you may not link to sites that host content that would be not permitted on Nexus (Clarification: this prohibition is also applicable to ripped content);

• you may not link to content that violates our image share rules. This means that in the description of images uploaded to our public Image Share section you may not include links to galleries that feature nudity. You may continue to include such links in our Supporters Image Share, provided that all other content related rules are observed. If your gallery features nudity, you may still include non-nude images from it in public Image Share, but only as non-clickable hotlinked images, provided that your image hoster permits hotlinking.

Does this apply to only the image share or the entire site?  In other words, can I post a link to my flickr account on my 'About Me' page as long as there are no public nude character photos in my account?  I'm guessing we can no longer link to Flickr because the nude images there do not need to be private.  Is this correct?

I think the problem with flickr is that even though your gallery may not contain nude images folks could easily follow your contact list to galleries that do contain them?

What about linking to the supporter's section in the the standard image section?

Consider it a limit on linking to direct galleries or images that contain nudity within the image share. We know flickr hosts nude content and that's fine; it's not an out-right ban on linking to ANYTHING on flickr; just don't link to any galleries on flickr that host any material you couldn't post on the Nexus yourself (nude or otherwise, e.g. ripped textures) whether it's your own or otherwise.

 

The same rule doesn't apply so much to the file database as the file database has different rules to the image share in terms of nudity. Just use a bit of common sense and hopefully we won't need to regulate further

I can perfectly accept any rules you make, and I think, most of the other User too.

But handing out restrictions of about three weeks image upload block for a rule that was not written down (not only not cleary, it wasnt) is the definition of unfair.

Just because she "was not using common sense". Nope, sorry.

Does it really make any difference if a nude image is uploaded directly or you need to click on a link to get to it? 

 

We disapprove of piracy, and for this reason we do not permit links to sites that host pirated content. We do not approve of using content without permission (e.g. ripped content) and for this reason we do not permit download links to ripped content or links to sites that host ripped content. By the same analogy, if we do not permit nudity in public Image Share then common sense dictates that we will not approve of links to such content in public Image Share.

As LadyM said we have always moderated inappropriate links and this is no different.

 

Also I would suggest that this conversation continue in a PM.  You know we do not discuss moderation in the open forum and if you can not get resolution via PM then I would urge you to follow the ToS of the site and speak to Robin directly, via PM, regarding this matter.

so just to be clear i can only use img(flickrlink)/img and delete the urls ???
