My Mods not working on OpenMW

Hi everyone.

So I have modded the original Morrowind many times, and the construction kit works on the steam version of my game just fine, but when I try to use the mods on OpenMW they just do not work.

I added enchanted items and clothing to a few characters and when I load up the game, they do not have the items.

I cannot figure out what is wrong.

I even opened a mod that DOES work with OpenMW and added a test item to it to see if that would work, but when I load the game, nothing I add works but everything from the original does.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on?

I have the construction set from Nexus. It works fine with vanilla game in steam.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply.

you should test your mods first from a fresh new game. If and only if they work from a fresh new game they could work from a previous save too.
Think about a save like a mod always loaded last, it could override almost anything you changed in your mod (e.g. inventories of NPCs already encountered in game)

I didn't think of doing that.

In fact I made a save right in front of the character I made changes to haha.

Today I'll try the new game and come back.

But question: does the nexus c kit work with openmw?

Is there anything I need to do upon getting it?

Like updating bsas or anything?

So I went into a new game with my mod, and same thing happened.

My mod did not work, and the change to another mod that works with openmw did not work, though everything in that mod did work.

(The mod made a change to the necromancer amulet, so I added a glove to the character that holds that amulet, went into a new game, killed that character, but found that the amulet had the mod change, but he did not have the glove.)

I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Does OpenMW have a different construction kit than the original?

Maybe the version I got is not right.

Could someone link the construction kit that I need to get?

Is there anything special that I need to do to get mods to work?

Assuming you start from a fresh new game, if not already doing this try loading only the standard Bethesda masters, + the other mod and your mod, to be sure you have no other mods potentially changing the same NPC.
If this works, maybe you have in your full loading list some other mod loaded trying to change the same NPC. If 2 mods change the same object (e.g. a NPC) still often only the last loaded one will have the changes applied overwriting the changes to the NPC done by the previously loaded one. To reconcile things usually tools like TESTool merge objects option (but this is obsolete as it may crash with long loading lists) or Tes3merge (the current state-of-the-art one) work, maybe give tes3merge a try
