I'm honestly at my wits end with this crap. Been getting CTDs for months and every time I think I find the problem and everything seems fine... BAM = Crash. Its usually at Sanctuary (of course). Fast traveling to Sanctuary causes CTD and also trying to load a save in Sanctuary CTDs too. I ditched Scrap Everything because I thought that might have been the problem and just used Jenncave's Clean and Simple settlement mods (loaded absolutely last). Still crash. It also crashed yesterday going into the weapon workbench (first time for that one). I've also been reading AWKCR being outdated could cause crashes too, but also that AWKCR in general causes CTDs too. I am at a loss and am hoping someone can shed some light on the problem because its getting pretty frustrating. Thank you

have you changed your graphics card to a newer turing card or better and you cannot run to vault 111 without ctd? if yes read this.

I see  with a fast look that you have 2 mods that edit sanctuary..... that alone could cause issues...

Also note that if youre using the same save/character to test you arent going to ever find the culprit since saves hold data from previous mods used as well and even though you may have removed a mod ...data from that mod is still in the save.

A cdt could be caused from a lot of things and from something noticeable to something totally unrelated and minor...

 

Then we have the hardware aspect of the problem like a rig not up to specs that isnt loading fast enough causing time-outs,overwhelmed from too much to process,drivers,Background applications eating resources..etc etc.

Unless you start a fresh profile in your mod manager and slowly add mods and test as you go youre never going to make sense of it...

@HeyYou It's not the number of mods that matters it's what they do.

The number of inactive mods will contribute (as the data is read but not read in correctly).

in the least move those to end of load order if they they are standing in as pointers (i think they often end up in FE or FF address space if/when used).

Having masters out of order in any mod will contribute negatively as well. (open in FO4edit, right-click something something order masters).

Greekrage has it right, multiple edits to same areas will potentially have negative impact.

 

Spent a long time integrating mods in fo4edit (ruling out conflicts).

Merging mods cleans up a lot of conflicts.

Previs and precombine data can be largely cancelled out by making all reference the date you wish to use.

In short its not just adding mods, but working them out.

 

Its an educational game, not a recreational one.
