MGSO alternative in 2021

Hello everyone, This is my first time posting in a Nexus forum so please bear with me if im not mindful of the rules. Ive been modding several bethsoft games for a while now and I have been playing morrowind off and on for the last year or two. When i initially downloaded the game i went strait for the top mods of all time and downloaded MGE MCP MGSO and an animation mod and westlys face and body pack with better bodies. nothing crazy, just optimizations so upgrade it from PS1 graphics to PS2 graphics. (that was my analogy at the time) well after playing the game for a very long time, and upgrading to MGE XE i found out MGSO is a VERY outdated mod and a large number of things I thought were in the vanilla game, just werent. So I checked out a few guides on how to fix it and my heart dropped. so what did I do? i completely uninstalled the game, deleted all my files besides saves, then spent probably 4-6 hours downloading mods from the step guide, only to boot up my game and.... Its the ugliest thing I've ever laid my eyes on. So now I'm on a mission to rebuild MGSO as a single mod download with all the "good mods" from MGSO and omitting all the "bad mods" Ive spent a LONG time scouring the interwebs to find all the mods in MGSO's description but theres a few things i need help with. There are a number of mods that i just cant find, they may be lost to time other than being able to pull from an installed copy of MGSO. also I want to know exactly what mods to omit from this mod. I intend to have this a drag and drop where plugins will have their own folders and mesh/texture replacers will have another, for sake of convenience of the player. I have a good list going so far but I'd like others opinions on exactly WHY MGSO is bad so I can do what I can to make it good. Any comments are appreciated and have a nice day :)

The worst problem with MGSO is the huge quantity of conflicts it generates.

To sort out the mods it uses you just have to open them with a mod manager to know what they contain then take a closer look at their content with the Construction Set.

i once went down the lazy road too and used MGSO3 as a base, i knew it was a bad idea but i wanted to check it out.

would not do so again ^^

for the install after that is went with https://github.com/Tyler799/Morrowind-2020/blob/master/Morrowind_2020.md

yeah its no 3 click solution but and had to customize some things to my liking.

and if your mod preferences make it possible for you to use openmw i would consider this too. but if you want to use some mods that use MWSE then its no option.
