FCOM too easy?

Hey guys!

 

I know the title may sound wierd, as most players complain of FCOM being too hard, but for me its just unbalanced in general. I'm using a basic FCOM installation with a few texture packs and unique landscapes/better cities, with NO damage or durability mods or anything else that effects weapon stats or combat except deadly reflex. I am also using Dynamic levelled lists and oblivion XP.

However, even though FCOM is supposed to remove levelling and make the game harder, I can encounter giants and trolls at level 5 that I easily kill in just a few hits! Oblivion XP says that these monsters are suppsedly "level 3" or "level 5", which makes little sense as a huge mountatin troll ought to go down with a bit more than just 5 sword hits with a steel longsword.

By contrast, when I entered the mythic dawn cave at lake arrius for the main quest, everyone there was super hard to kill, despite being humans! I can understand this being the case with the magically armored mythic dawn, but even cloth robed apprentices take like 20+ hits to finally go down. Oblivion XP claims that these characters are level 12, which would explain the difficulty, but it seems very dumb how "high level" unarmored, dagger-wielding apprentices are somehow waayyy more powerful than giants that stand twice as tall as my character.

 

Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Can post load order if needed.
