How to update main folder.

 

1) Download choice ENB presets from nexus and other mod sites.
2) There WILL be a main folder/.rar and a data folder/.rar. Open the main folder/.rar.
2a) Disregard until Optional: create a backup. Copy the main folder and paste it into the folder you created in step 1) Optional: create a backup.
3) Drag all contents into your skyrim directory that holds your skyrim.exe. Your computer might hide the .exe so essentially, if it asks you to override then you're doing it

right (and say yes to the override).

4) Download newest ENB update for skyrim (google skyrim enb 0.214, select NEWEST ENB file on that page, which may or may not be 0.214).

5) Open the .rar and right click d3d9.dll. Paste this into your skyrim directory (say yes to override if asked). NEVER EVER paste this file into your windows folder.

5a) Disregard until Optional: create a backup. Paste the d3d9.dll into the folder you created in step 1) Optional: create a backup. NEVER EVER paste this file into your windows folder.

 

How to update data folder

 

1) Use the same ENB that you updated the main folder with.
2) There WILL be a main folder/.rar and a data folder/.rar. Right click the data folder or open the data.rar and right click the data folder. If there is no data folder make one and drag contents of the .rar into it.
3) Select add to archive.
4) Select browse on the top left corner, designate path file will save in.
5) Click OK.
5a) Disregard until Optional: create a backup. Copy the .rar you made into your backup folder made in step 2) of Optional: create a backup.
6) Use NMM to add a mod (top right, puzzle piece with a + sign) select the data folder.rar you just made (in the path you specified in step 4).
7) Activate mod.

 

Optional: create a backup (also standalone for those fresh installs, which is why Im writing this guide)

 

1) Right click decktop, select new, click folder.
2) Name folder.
3) Follow step 2a) in How to update main folder.

4a) Follow step 5a) in How to update main folder.
5) Follow step 5a) in How to update data folder.

 

Note: You'll of course need to read the instructions for every ENB and alter your skyrimprefs and not all ENBs work with all computers. The super high end bring ones especially. If you need a guide on how to install the ENB itself I suggest looking up Gopher's Vids, he gives great video tutorials.

Yeah... you are still quite above the level of total ENB dummies I'm afraid. :-) Or maybe I am just at the level of ENB IDIOT. I was lost by the second line...
