Is there a Modding instruction guide?

Hello all.

I've tried to make various personal mods to put crafting furniture into houses I use. One example, the Sewing Basket from Clothing Craft into my Elysium Estate house. Ive read several replies on google
that say to use Creation Kit, put the item in the house, then save it as a patch and run... I've done that, and it looks good IN CREATION KIT. When I add the mod to my load order (after the programs it effects), nothing happens, as though I've never added the mod.

Is there a NON-youtube instructions I can find/follow as to how to do this, and what I may be doing wrong? I find many of the youtube videos are either by people that can't stay on focus as to the tutorial, or don't quite cover what I need.... even if it is close.
