The old garx needs help.

After a long time away from my 3 or 4 year obsession with this game, I find myself ready for a return, and eager to try some of the new mods developed since my departure.

I have installed Steam's "Game of the Year Deluxe" edition of Oblivion and could really use an up to date mod installation guide.

Mucho Thanx in advance,

garx

Did you read this? https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/11170848-im-baaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk/&do=findComment&comment=106654643

Also, install and use Wrye Bash, The first, best and only good mod manager ever made. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/22368

Just saw a guide to it as well... https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/35230

There is some setting to be made in the Steam version if I recall right - You need to google it if no one here knows more. I got the GOG version, so it was just install it, install the mods and play, so I never bothered to check how to get the Steam version to work properly. It has been mentioned here at the forum somewhere earlier if I recall right.

Definitely take care of Archive Invalidation at the earliest, or use SkyBSA instead straight away.

The Steam versions are notoriously needing even more invalidation than the disc versions for "replacer"-type mods to ever work.

Especially the "last modified" dates of the BSA archives (god, I hate the repetition of the A) are always way too recent and will trump all other attempts until redated.
