Achillius
Hello,I have been having problems playing and streaming skyrim because of it's very high cpu usage. I have tried looking everywhere for people with this problem and had no luck. I have tried running a computer scan using 3 different anti virus programs to make sure i didn't have a virus using my system. This is the only game i am having problems with high cpu usage.I run quite a few mods but it should not be using 90-100% cpu usage. A friend has a i7 at 3.2ghz with mods on skyrim and playing and streaming only using ~35% cpu usage. He said it could be a problem with the game setting maybe in the skyrim.ini or prefs?Any suggestions or anyone have this problem?
vlaka
have you added multithreading tweaks to your ini files?if so they might be what's causing it.
Achillius
I have not made any edits to my skyrim prefs or skyrim ini except for changing bDeferredShadows=1 to bDeferredShadows=0 in skyrim prefs. He added multithreading to his ini files and he is running still at around 35% cpu usage.

Achillius
Have you tried adding them? Are all your cores activated? What do you mean are all of my cores activated? For skyrim i think it's only using 1 currently and i've tried using http://itcprosolutions.com/skyrimguides/tweak_guide.htm#multicpu that ini tweak but i'm sure i did not properly set it up because it did not change anything. No need to update bios unless the manufacturer suggests to do so. Did you set the correct value for iNumThreads=XX ? for quad core it's obviously 4 :) Edited September 25, 2013 by vlaka
Achillius
I will update my chipset drivers to be sure. Also is there a specific way to add the multicore tweak? I just copied the data on the site and pasted it below the [water] section
