Hello!

So to preface, I've been using mods for a few years now, but only recently starting poking around in the CS myself. What I'm trying to do is create a duplicate of the SI upper class clothes (light blue/light green/light purple regalia and black/purple/red finery) to place in a vendor's chest so that as the player I can wear either the masculine or feminine version without interfering with the NPCs wearing those clothes.

I've figured out most of how to accomplish this through tutorials and just plain getting in there and trying things, but my problem is that I don't seem to have the dds files that represent the icons shown in the inventory/barter lists. Would that be in the SI "textures" BSA, since most other DDS files are textures? Do I need to unpack that in addition to the SI mesh BSA?

Thanks guys!!

Depending on which Construction Set you use (there's the Vanilla one and there's an OBSE plugin making it "Extended") you'll have to have a file present to point the dialog to. This file neither has to persist (can be removed after saving) nor does it have to be anything but empty. It just needs to be at the exact same place and have the exact same filename as the Vanilla DDS file you want your item to use.

I mentioned the Construction Set Extender, because in this version of the CS you can also enter path and filename directly and it won't check if the file actually exists.

You "can" extract the SI textures BSA as well, yes, but neither the meshes nor the textures have to remain extracted into your data folder. This is only so you can select, and perhaps also preview, them inside the CS "temporarily". (Only because the dumb thing can't read them from inside the BSAs like the game.)

Public opinion differs on whether having your BSAs extracted into your data folder has any benefit at all, or is causing harm instead, depending on what system you have and surely also a good amount of placebo effects.

I see, thank you so much! I have the vanilla CS, but I'll definitely be checking out the extended version - that sounds like a great upgrade.

Thank you again! :D

I you use ENB, I have 2 bat files that will make both Oblivion and CSE to run perfect, well if needed.  Otherwise CSE will not start as it can't run ENB
