Should the Thieves Guild ever be released from jail?

What should happen with the corrupt guard

  1. Exile him (strip him of his rank as guard and let him leave Riften) (11 votes [22.00%])

Bruce, I figured I would put a post in here. After playing DiTG and enjoying it I do have an idea you may not have thought about.

 

Would it be possible to combine DeTG and DiTG? Not as it is now but more along the lines of killing those who need to be killed (MAVEN, Mercer...) and jailing those who should be able to earn redemption(Sapphire,Vex...).

 

I started a new play through with the hope of trying this on a clean game but forgot to talk to Jarl Laila Law-Giver before removing her from Riften, Now I am 6 hours of playtime past that point and have to replay it..... LOL

 

This would make you able to play no matter who is Jarl and which ever side you played on (Stormcloak or Imperial). If Maven is jarl, use the DeTG part to find evidence of her treachery. Kill/banish her and make Laila Law-Giver the Jarl again and have her give you the start of DiTG with Maven already taken care of, you continue with the rest of DiTG with the option to kill or brawl/persuade for arrest.

 

 

Just my 2 cents and we all know that ain't worth $hit anymore :-)

As now, this would be impossible because the game can't keep track of the Thieves you have killed and the ones you need to arrest if the mods are in separate esp files. Maybe I could make a compatibility patch of these two mods, because I needed to make this anyway for :

 

- Enabling Valentina after you have finished the Disband the Thieves Guild quest without having to duplicate her and duplicate her voicelines.

- Automatically fail the Disband the Thieves Guild quest or Destroy the Thieves Guild quest if one of these is started before the other (the last activated quest will fail the previous activated quest).

 

I need to be honest, I have a lot of work on my plate right now (I haven't even found time or the creativity to make a sketch for the Redemption part yet), I'm going to postpone all development to Mid-November. Expect an update around December or even later.

i hope this mod isn't dead

i don't want to join the Thieves Guild but i don't want to kill them either, since they're not killing anyone, you should make a choice that let them live and leave Riften instead (exile or a peaceful offer, your choice)
