Skyrim crashes to desktop at startup when I enable my mod

Problem: Skyrim crashes to desktop before main menu comes up (after it shows the Bethesda logo and all that stuff)

I am making a mod called "Shards of the Dragonborn" with an actor that has dialog and several custom weapons. The weapons are just dragonbone weapons with modified stats. I would guess that the problem is with the actor or the dialog because I have made mods with custom items and they work perfectly well.

I have an actor with dialog in a quest. No sound is currently recorded. The actor has a full suit of dragonbone armor and no other equipment (I couldn't figure out how to add them)

I can provide pretty much any more specifics that are needed.

Thanks!

This kind of crash is 99.9999% of the time caused by a missing master file in your mod load order. One or more plugins you're attempting to use require another one to load, and you do not have this other plugin active in your load order.

The best way to find the source of the problem is to load your plugin list with TES5Edit. It will fail just as the game did, but will actually tell you which plugin was unable to load and why. It could be a simple matter of changing your load order (a mod at the top of your order requires a mod that's being loaded closer to the bottom), or it could mean you need to install something you either removed, or a compatibility patch of some kind that you're currently unaware that you need. Either way, TES5Edit will tell you what you need.

Thanks. The only master file that my mod uses is the skyrim master file and I have that but I'll check anyways.

Also, how do I use TES5Edit? What is the right tutorial?

Is your mod the only one active? I'd hazard a guess that it's not, if the only master it requires is Skyrim.esm. Something else is missing or being loaded before one of its masters.

It's not. I'll test it without any other mods active but I think I tried that already.

I do have falskaar installed. That may cause a confilict with it for some reason...

I tried it. It still doesn't work. I think I did something wrong with the mod... I have no idea what though.

Oh, wait. it does use Dawnguard and Update. Dawnguard comes before it though and Dawnguard requires update so it should work...
