vortex when installed can be seen in my hot bar but it refuses to pop up on my desktop screen which makes me unable to configure mods, I have no idea what could be causing this problem I've tried reinstalling vortex, running as administrator, changing compatibility etc but nothing works please help!!

1. don't run it as administrator

2. why would you change compatibility? and what did you change it to?

3. are you sure you're looking at the right desktop?

I won't run it as administrator anymore but I changed windows 8 back to windows 7 then repeat, I only have one desktop. The issue i'm having is it won't display at all on the full desktop screen even though the application is running and I can see the window in the hotbar it is unclickable , I attached an image.

why are you on unsupported windows versions?

i mean, really........

well where's the windows 10 version then

mate I've downloaded the latest vortex mod manager off nexus mods website, Once Installed it immediately is set on windows 8 compatibility and has worked before with my system, if you'd like to let me know off an updated compatibility that would be nice.

i don't have a win7/8 system to help you.

if/when you upgrade your system to run a version of windows that is actively supported i can possibly help, until then you'll need to wait for someone else who's still running on obsolete, unsupported versions of windows to see if they can assist with the issue.

good luck.

One of the problems is quite likely the fact that you upgraded your O/S, and then downgraded it again. Unless you did a clean install, the downgrade process is not without problems. It tends to break a fair bit of stuff, that you don't really notice..... (task scheduler springs immediately to mind....)

I doubt they upgraded/downgraded their O/S.

I doubt they are actually using Windows 7 or Windows 8.

From context it appears they are using Windows 10 (which Vortex should have no problem with) and using Windows built-in compatibility options to run Vortex in "Windows 7" or "Windows 8" mode, having tried both.

It won't have helped because the problem isn't with compatibility. Vortex runs fine in Windows 10. The problem lies elsewhere.

Correct! my OS is windows 10, if it has nothing to do with compatibility then I'm unsure where the problem lies, all I know is something is interfering with displaying the vortex window, I tried opening other applications on my PC and they all are functional except vortex. This is my second PC i'm using and I had vortex on my last one I don't remember if I did a clean install but could of been the case.
