Fallout Audio Files

Hello all,

I'm new to PC gaming (6 months or so) and have discovered the modding and the community/creators I had heard much about. New lease on gaming life for gamers like myself who have limited time to play (husband/father), but want to get the most out of the experience. Alright, enough on the intro.

I recently downloaded a Fallout 4 mod from Nexus that was an audio file for Doom sounds (link here: Doom Eternal Level Up - Now with more sounds at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)).

I started a new game to test out the mod, didn't hear what I liked, deleted the mod from my load order (archives included). However, it seems that the audio files "stayed behind" because I started multiple new games in an attempt to reset the default sounds, but to no avail. It would seem that the download caused a permanent change to the games files, because I loaded and old game save that had minimal mods for the playthrough, and the DOOM sounds still played. I tried to follow the folders shown in the "File Contents" section in the Nexus to see if I could isolate the files and maybe delete/quarantine them (not sure if that is the right terminology). However, the files do not let me access as I get the message that the "files/folders are managed by Vortex". Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, as I am unable to play the game without those annoying sounds. I am hoping to do a few more playthroughs of Fallout before diving into Skyrim. Thank you in advance.
