Too many fragmentation mines - which mod?

I'm collecting 1000s of fragmentation mines, I'm finding a few hundred in bins everywhere. I assume a mod caused this. Which one? I don't like it. It makes the game too easy, they sell for a high price.

But yeah, we'll see what we can do about getting this sorted out for you.

First thing we are gonna need, is a list of your active mods in your load order. Depending on what mod manager you are using, there are different places to find it.

The one that I know of and use the most, is plugins.txt. Which is located in C:\Users\Howlin Wolf\AppData\Local\Fallout4 Ok, now you won't have a folder named Howlin Wolf. It will be whatever name is what you use when you log into the computer with a password.

Tho again, if you use a mod manager, that manager may use a different list. And we will need to find out where to find that list.

 

Ok. So. Once you get your list. Open it up with notepad. Once it's open click somewhere there inside the text once, with the left mouse button.

Now, on your keyboard, hold down the CTRL key, and tap the A key to highlight all the text.

Now, still holding the CTRL key, tap the C key, to copy all the text.

 

Now, in your post here on the forums. Hold the CTRL Key, and tap the P key, to paste your list, into your post.

Then we will see what you have got ;)

Ok. So I hunted thru your list as best I could. Some of those abbreviated filenames make it a real chore to figure out what the mods are.

Of the ones that I can identify, I don't really see any that would cause the problem, on their own.

I do, however, see that a lot of your load order contains quite a few new quest mods. Those can sometimes contain multiple scripts in them. Which might be a source of the problem. Especially with so many of them. Some of them might be conflicting. Or may have become broken (which Does happen with scripting in This game >:( )

 

I really am so sorry for taking this long. Especially since I'm gonna have to give advice you probly won't like. :sad: :sad:

Advice is this: Deactivate the quest mods, and try on a clean, fresh save game. Meaning, a save that doesn't have mods activated on it. If you don't want to make a new character, there are tons of clean savegames that you can download in the mods sections.

Experiment. Play for a bit to see if the problem is there. If it's not, reactivate a mod or two. Play for a while. Rinse and repeat until you find the culprits.

 

However, I do feel bad that you have this problem. If you would like to (and never trust anything over the internet, I'd NEVER try to send you anything harmful, but ALWAYS virus scan anything you download off the internet!) you can use this to reduce the pricing of the mines down to 1 cap each. I have a feeling it was 1 quest mod that deliberately added all these mines, I have a vague memory of this. No idea which one though.

 

Thanks for the adjustment, I've downloaded it, this workaround is easier than messing about removing mods!

You're really very welcome :) Just remember to have it low in your load order, down below all those quest mods, just in case. So none of them over-ride the over-ride, lol ;)

It's too bad I dunno how to make a mine launcher. Use all those mines as ammo. That would be FUN :D

I have an impact grenade launcher from somewhere, that's fun! Usually blow myself up too, or get a lot of radiation poisoning.

 

I can't get the hang of the terminology for load order. I can understand first and last. The last one to load overrides the earlier ones. But what is top and bottom? From what you just wrote, I think top is the first loaded one and bottom is the last loaded, so bottom is actually the highest priority one, which makes my head spin!
