Hi,

I am experiencing crashes whenever I try to start a new game or load a previous save (Skyrim SE 1.6.353). It always crashes at the loading screen (Where you can see your level). I did a clean reinstall and had all the old files removed, including mods. The base game worked fine when I first used the original launcher, then I proceeded to SKSE installation (no mod), and that where the game started to crash at loading screen. Now the game would still crash even if I launch the game without SKSE and without mods. No error and no warning at all. The mods I have are fine, I have checked multiple times using SSEEdit and LOOT. I also followed the installation instruction for SKSE, and the game path is not on C drive. No error from the skse64.log and skse64_loader.log, but I will put them here just in case.

SKSE64.log:

At this point I really have no idea on what might be the cause of it, maybe something wrong with the base game?

Since you are using Skyrim SE 1.6, try installing this Crash Logger, and it may tell you what file is responsible for the crashing.

Also, usually when it fails to start it is because one or more dll files is not compatible with your version of Skyrim.

Do you have more mods installed?

Check your skse folder and dllplugins folder and update all dlls to the right version of your Skyrim. Then it should work.

Did you make sure the SKSE scripts folder was installed correctly?

I have installed the crash logger but no log was produced.

As of the skse version, I am using the AE build 2.1.5, and my Skyrim SE is up-to-date. I am not sure how to check the version of the .dll files but I have checked all files using LOOT with no issue found.

I followed the instruction and placed the scripts fold in the data folder (D:\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Scripts), with all the pex files as well.

Should I try downgrade it to 1.5.xxx? Will it breaks the SKSE and the mods I have?

Okay, so I managed to get pass the loading screen, but the game would crash before you can create your character (somewhere after the guy says "You're finally awake"). I also got a crash log and it looks like some kind of linker error. Does anyone know what might be the cause of it, is it because of the mods or the SKSE?

Update:

So I finally managed to get it work without any crash. All I did was use LOOT to identify the warnings and errors (all recommendations) and then use SSEEdit quick autoclean tool to fix them. Still not sure what caused those CTD but now it works great.
