Weapon suppressor and hostile awareness

I would like to reduce the noise/alerting/awareness when shooting weapons with suppressors, in interiors it seems to alert well over 2K game unit radius which draws big crowds with the resident evil horde levels I am generating in a project.

 

The suppressor OMODs have an attribute elSoundLevel which is 2 for 10mm/deliverer and 4 for everything else.

 

Anyone happen to know the logic/formula/effect of messing with that value ?

I'm not profient with OMODs and weapons.

But if you have an explosion (Can be invisible) on the weapon projectile it does seem to have a sound level too. Just something to keep an eye out
