Dear All:

This is Shezza. Greetings from Canada!!

I wrote to you last time about having problems getting Septimus 3 and got not one answer. I now know what the culprit is. It's MO2's GUI that keeps the game from starting.

If any of you have any ideas of how to fix it or have a workaround, I'll gladly hear you out, but please make it easy.

Thank you kindly for your time. I remain,

Sincerely yours always,

Shezza.

The game is supposed to be started through MO2 when using MO2.

Have you started the game at least once without any mods active and without using a mod manager to start it?

If no, do so.

If yes, have you tried starting the game without any mods active from within MO2?

If no, do so.

If yes, have you confirmed that you have all requirements in place for the mods that you have installed?

If no, do so.

If yes, I do not know why MO2 will not start your game with the information as provided.

Septimus 3 for Special Edition (and compatible with Anniversary Edition) can be found here for direct download: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/58229

Should you provide more information as to what happens when you tell MO2 to start the game as well as any error messages that might pop up or be displayed in MO2, then perhaps someone might be able to shed some more light on the subject.

Dear Ishara:

This is Shezza. Greetings from Canada!

Every time I go to play the game, it shuts itself down. There was a dialogue box about this when it first started acting up, but it was on for a split second and then it was gone.

I would like to know if it's a problem with Wabbajack because I think download it directly from Nexus sounds like a great idea! It took three days last week to download Septimus with Wabbajack.

Questions: If I do download it directly from Nexus, will it take as long (three days)? Secondly, how do I "escape" Wabbajack?

I also tested to see if it was arguing with my anti-virus and, no, it wasn't.

Thank you kindly for your time. I remain,

Sincerely yours always,

Shezza.

I have never used Wabbajack and do not know how to "escape" from it.

I cannot speak to the amount of time that it takes to download a file from the Nexus file server to your computer. However, there appear to be multiple files for Septimus 3. Depending upon which ones you actual need, your overall download time may vary.

You may want to ensure that all the mods you are using are intended for the version of the game that you have installed. In some cases a mismatch in versions will prevent the game from running.

Dear Ishara:

This is Shezza. Greetings from Canada!

I'm now in the process of doing a clean re-install of SSE. Between you, me and the back fence post, I have a feeling that Wabbajack has been my problem. I never heard of Wabbajack either until one of my Steam gaming buddies told me about it. I think I know how to escape Wabbajack--delete the file.

Questions: 1) Does the Nexus version of Septimus need anything extra, like Wabbajack? 2) How do I make sure all mods will agree? 3) How do I update Skyrim?

Thank you kindly for your time. I remain,

Sincerely yours always,

Shezza.

I have never used Septimus. I do not know what its requirements may be. I recommend that you read all associated documentation (description page, pinned comments, any included documents in the mod archive).

Easy way to make sure that all mods agree, make sure that you do not get mods that have overlapping features. It is possible to get a stable game with some conflicting mods but I would not recommend that when starting out. Keep it simple. Learn the game first. Then you can see how a given mod affects the game.

As far as updating Skyrim, Steam should do that for you unless you've told it not to update for some reason. If you are doing a complete clean re-install of SSE, you should have the latest version once finished. Just make sure you start the game at least once with the default launcher to ensure that the INI files are properly created.

Dear Ishara:

This is Shezza. Greetings!

I've been playing Skyrim for practically for forever. I'm totally addicted to it and, right now, I'm going through withdrawal symptoms.

Do you use a mod manager? If so, which one? I'm thinking of taking Septimus through Vortex. It hardly gives me any trouble, yet, I'm beginning to suspect that MO2 is built into the modpack. My gaming buddy in Texas recommended Septimus to me, and he loves it! I played a little bit last week. I loved what I saw, including the new Alternate Start. That was great!

Thank you kindly for your time. I remain,

Sincerely yours always,

Shezza.
