 I've got creation kit working with the steam version of the game. OBSE is installed, all of it is ready to go. 
                       I'm trying to change values of soulgems OR overhaul enchanting / spell making. I don't need everything to be super cheesy, just need to make powerful and cheap spells/ enchantments for a challenge im doing.

UESP has a lot of infos about the way the spells and enchantments' magnitude is calculated.

I have fooled around a lot with soul gems and rarely got anywhere with it. Well the way I handle them today works as I made a bug in my own scripts and was convinced they did work but that's another story.


My main issues is to sort them and I gave that up. An example is that a Grand Soul gem can have all 5 different sorts of souls but the game or OBSE fails to tell which is which. The versions of OBSE I did use when trying it, thought that a Grand Soul gem is just a Grand Soul gem. If it is empty or full, it still has the same ID. The command I used to see what type of soul it has did not work properly. I gave it up. 


Not that it might be this you wanna play with? I am not sure what you are asking and I read your question 3 times but keep this in mind anyway. Fiddling with the soul gems is not always easy and the result might not always be what you did expected. This is Oblivion after all...  ;)  Different versions of OBSE acts different sometimes or rather always.
