Oblivion Loading Screens in Windowed Mode with Game in Full Screen Glitch

Well, here I am back again with yet another problem having built a new computer with WIN 10 upgrade. Recently I posted an ongoing problem with Oblivion Reloaded no longer functioning. Thanks to the great gamer RomanR, who figured it out, OR started working. Upon loading my game only for the second time just after getting OR to work, suddenly I had a new problem...one that I've never encountered. The game is set to full screen mode with a resolution that matches the display in widescreen (I have always played in that mode with no problems) as it was BEFORE OR got fixed. Suddenly, as the game fired up, the loading screen was in Windowed mode while the game itself was in Full Screen mode. Not only that, but the HUD is out of sync with the cursor - the mouse arrow being far askew from where you need it to be to activate. I tried to get a screen shot to illustrate exactly what I'm talking about but couldn't take one. Each time I move from cell to cell, if the loading screen comes up, it's in Windowed mode while the full screen of the cell where I was remains on screen in the background flickering. Once I'm in the new cell, the HUD remains in a position onscreen suggesting it's still in Windowed mode with no compass headings visible in the HUD screen bar and again, the mouse arrow way out of sync well outside of where you need to place it to activate a feature. I hope I'm making this description clear enough without a screenshot. No matter what changes of settings I do, whether it be with the game itself or with my NVidia 650 Ti card, NOTHING has worked. I'm forced to assume that there may be a connection with OR 6.5.0, but there was never a problem before going to this new computer AND this blasted WINDOWS 10! Can anyone help? A very huge THANK YOU in advance!

Your cursor not aligning with UI elements is so familiar sounding but I just can't make the connection in my head on the cause. All that I can think of is that it's related to antialiasing. Maybe try turnng off AA in the drivers, game and OR and see if it makes any difference.

You mentioned that you are using also Oblivion Stutter Remover? Maybe they are somewhat clashing. I suspect FPS management part. As I'm also using OSR, I found these options to suit me best for my computer:

Master = {
_comment = You can turn on or off each distinct feature from here.
bManageFPS = 0
bHookCriticalSections = 0
bHookHashtables = 0
bReplaceHeap = 1
bReplaceGetTickCount = 1
bLogToConsole = 0
bFastExit = 1
bExtraProfiling = 0
bFlushLog = 1
iSchedulingResolution = 0
bReplaceRandom = 0
bExperimentalStuff = 0
iMainHookPoint = 1

}

As alternative heap I'm using FastMM4 (choice 1), but there must be additional libraries installed. Also the documentation of Oblivion Reloaded says that you must switch off "fast exit" feature, because it gets in the way of OR's memory management. On Win 10 you can also try "Display Tweaks" mod, which is more modern and should run better, however I didn't try it yet.

For OR I would experimentally disable all non graphic features (all except effects/shaders part).

Greetings, RomanR! Nice to see you (again)...LOL! Okay, I'll give this a try and let you know...

EDIT: RomanR, tried your settings and...nothing. I even went so far as to remove Stutter Remover and still nothing. Oh, what a mess...

Unfortunately as I'm not Win 10 user myself, I can't offer much help in this case. I think we need to focus why Oblivion is changing from fullscreen to window mode and back. Are there some new compatibility settings regarding desktop visuals? I remember that Win 10 has some new. What results gave disabling AA, as Striker879 mentioned? Isn't something changing Oblivion.ini except Oblivion itself (try disabling "Save settings" in OR)? What happens if you set Oblivion from fullscreen to windowed mode (OR may force window borderless mode without asking).

Disabling AA made no difference. Have tried all variations of WIN 10/NVidia display settings. Have gone back and forth with Windowed/Fullscreen settings...EVERYTHING...nothing works. I know a local WIN 10 tech, so I'll try and ask him. Thanks, RomanR anyway.

In fact I believe that I was able to somewhat reproduce your UI problem. After I uninstalled OR and restarted Oblivion, I found fonts to be much smaller than usual and so I had problems to find boxes with my mouse. I found the only way to delete Oblivion.ini completely, generate it anew and set all things back. You mentioned that you tried other versions of OR back and forth, so I hope it will be some help.

I use Windows 10 on both of my gaming computers and I never had any issues with running the game in Win 10. I did had issues with ORL. I refuse to test OR as it is not well managed, I do not have faith in that author, not the way he did handle the former OR team, deleted vital info and similar. I do feel he is not reliable so I stay as far as I can from him and OR.

is it possible just a feeling makes me react in this way? Yes. I never had contact with him. But as OR is such a big project that makes so many changes, and an author that seems to be unpredictable, I can do without it. I do not need OR. I need a stable platform for my gaming and I do have that and can focus at developing my own WIP's. I read to much about OR to try it.

Are all these threads and replies about OR true or lies? If OR did work perfect and if the author did not deleted vital info, well then there was not much to add, was there? Then everything would had been perfect and everyone could just have been happy as everyone would had used OR as the base for TES4, but something does smell, not nice smells like a flower or a nice perfume or a barbecued chicken when you are hungry.

As I have not tested OR myself, I should be quiet, but I do sense the smell never the less. Something smells a bit sour, not so pleasant. I do not dare to test it even. I read so much issues and problems when installing it, that i can faint thinking about it. To much is in stake here.

Windows 10 works better than any other Windows to this day if you ask me. I am also a Pro Technician, if that now counts at all.

Even worse? Yes, it fall back to 640x480 and you must make all graphic setting again (mainly set water detail to high and activate HDR) but font and button missaligment was in my case away (due smaller fonts the titles of buttons were at another place). After setting, quitting and restarting Oblivion UI problem disapeared. I also remember thar OR makes some changes in your Darn UI install (I'm not using it], so if you unistall OR, you must copy some files back.

Still I can speak only for my Win 7 computer with GFX 960 and drivers version 362.00.

I have also no idea about what could make Oblivion ping-pong to windowed-fullscreen, if it isn't OBSE plugins (maybe codecs or some driver settings). And what happens if you run Oblivion as windowed?

Edit: Sorry, you mentioned that you tried Oblivion in windowed mode. What about V-sync? Is some difference turning it off or on?
