Invisible Bookshelf Collision Bug

I'm running into an issue whenever I try to move a bookshelf inside one of the vanilla houses via Creation Kit. I can move the shelf and its associated markers around just fine in the kit, but whenever I load the mod into the game, the collision/book storage markers - but not the shelf - are still there. Basically, I cannot move past the spot where the shelf used to be and can still stick books there, though they still fall to the ground. Deleting the shelf/markers entirely hasn't helped. I can't think of a good way to resolve the issue, since I don't think disable or markfordelete work with unselectable/invisible markers. How can I fix this?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try to wait in another cell far away for 40+ days in game, maybe the moved marker needs to reset this way.

Sometimes these things get saved in your save game and only get placed to their new location after the cell resets.

for quick cell reset open the console and type

"setgs ihourstorespawncell 1"

"setgs ihourstorespawncellcleared 1"

"TFC"

then wait a few days

"TFC"

of course this is only to test it, do not save your game after using these commands since they alter the respawn time in the entire game, which is not something you would want to actually play with.

Thanks for the reply! I let the cell respawn (while waiting, as suggested, very far away) several times, but unfortunately no matter how long I waited the invisible shelf was still there.

hmmmm

Okay something else you can try is to link everything of that bookshelf to a new "disabled" X-marker, then drop it all below the map(like z=-30000), and place an entirely new bookshelf in its place.

I'm just guessing here though. Never really edited any bookshelves myself.

I'll try that. At the moment setting the shelf/markers to 'opposite enable parent' seems to be working (as the house I'm testing this in is already fully upgraded), but I'm not sure that's a permanent and/or universal fix. Now I just need to figure out how to set up an x-marker...

just search under "all" and type in xmarker, place it and check "initially disabled", then you have to select each item/collision marker on the original bookshelf and go to "enable partent", click on "select reference in render window" then click on that Xmarker.

Easiest would be to try and select all the items of the bookshelf and drop them a bit below the map or somewhere else where no other items will disturb you, then just keep double clicking on each item so you get multiple "edit" windows open, place all these windows on top of eachother and when you are ready you can just mass "enable parent" them one after the other.

Although my CK craps out when I have about 100+ edit windows like that open, but for one bookshelf it should be no problem.

Also after you have done this and you want to be sure you got all the items set correct, just select an item and when you see that blue-green line you know its set, if you then double press 1 on the number pad on the right of the keyboard that particular item will become invisible.

Keep repeating this so you are 100% sure all items are set properly, when you want them all visible again press alt+1 or F5(refresh cell).

Hope that helps a bit.
