Underclocking not working

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

My graphics card goes up to about 95°C on the memory (3080Ti therefore GDDR6X) see 100°C (but I did a little dusting so we are at 94/95°C in game)

Note we are in a heat wave and with 28 degrees in the apartment and 32 outside I am in “extreme” conditions

Already is it too hot? Or is this normal?

Then I wanted to do undervolt to reduce the temperatures a little but when I follow the tutorials I lower the curve by taking the point at 700mV by putting it at the frequency where I want (1560MHz to be stable) it works but after in game in gpu z I see that the voltages go back above 1V I don't understand why...

Someone can help me ?

Thanks

i recommend nividia inspector because you can priorize temp in the settings.

if you allow overclocking you will see a right pane where you can toggle base clock, memory clock, power and temp target and additionally priorize temp.

in your case i would at least lower the power target and you can additionally lower and limit the max temp. this should effectively reduce the temps.

currently i use 87% as power target and max temp of 75 °C setting. the card works silent and always in the efficiency sweet spot and never reaches more than 75 degrees. peak boost values will be lowered but this does not matter for normal gaming.
