Hands and feet replacers

When using a hands and feet replacer mod (I'm using Fem Feet Redesigned and CBBE Feet and Hands Textures) do I need to un-check all the vanilla hand and feet boxes in the Group Filter (i.e. CBBE-Vanilla-Hands-Elven)? This is very confusing especially when batch building with all the different choices. Thanks for any help.
