What title has the best lore?

What title, for you, has the most interesting/developed/detailed lore? Games and like Dark Souls, Skyrim and Lord of the Rings, to take a wide cut, all have amazingly developed interesting lore. Which ones, of anything, movies/games/series has THE best developed lore? Can you tell us anything about it? What makes lore of fiction so interesting?

My personal opinion, The Lord of the Rings. At least that what comes to mind. I do like the lore of the Fallout franchise and I'll always enjoy it's world but Hey, I'm a big nerd.

There is a differences between lore and plot/story. Are you asking for depth or breath? Because TES has a huge amount of lore but it isn't call out to it much in game.

Lord of the Rings, IMO has THE best and and most developed lore. Like TES, it gives justification for the creation of existence and therefore, is able to justify its own constituent parts.

I will say 'Lord Of The Rings' or 'A Song Of Ice And Fire', i love both sagas. LOTR has more mithical and divine stuff, but ASOIAF is the most deeply described world ever. George Martin´s characters are so complex, more than other charactes from books. Maybe even Star Wars saga, as far as i know, there are several books, spinoffs, comics and other stuff related to Star Wars universe.
