Limbs Severable Before Death

Is there a way a mod can be made where character limbs have a 2nd state after/comparable to crippling where the limb is cut off/blown off and must be reattached/cannot be used, where the limb would be picked up and a doctor/doctor's bag could be used to reattach it? This could work well with a more realistic slashing/slicing mod with bladed weapons. Bleeding damage might be a good idea, to avoid hapless limbless enemies helplessly flopping around, but bleeding damage from limbs unable to be found after combat can be cauterized at the penalty of not being able to use that limb without buying a prosthetic from a doctor (for a substantial fee, of course.) This would obviously exclude the head. I realize this is already asking a lot, but if the right arm is severed, the left can be used with one handed weapons but accuracy and recoil take a hit. Missing legs would make characters hobble or crawl. Two handed weapons wouldnt be usable without the other arm and so forth. Drawing your weapon whilst crawling MASSIVELY reduces speed. Crawling itself MASSIVELY reduces speed. I realize this mod would take immense amounts of work, but i think its quite an interesting and game changing idea.

When I read this I thought it would be cool and comedic (all be it morbid) if it was possible to shoot off a limb of an enemy and they wont die right away but if left alone they will rapidly lose blood and die. The amount of time they have depends on how much health they have when they lost the limb.

I think it would be asking too much to do more then a custom missing limb animation, where a hapless NPC just screams in agony on the floor.

Before they die to blood loss after about 10 to 20 seconds?

 

I also don't think that a doctorsbag (or even a doctor) will be able to reattach a limb realistically, either... XD

Look up unecessary violence or even Deadly reflexes, something like this was already made in oblivion (people who lost their wrists bled out pretty quickly and help their wrists, people who lost their legs bled out quickly and hoped around,) sadly animals can't survive without a limb unless imediate action is taken.. so it'd be pretty unrealistic to not have them bleed out within a couple of seconds, still a decent idea =).

Some parts (mostly the cosmetic, healing and bleeding) of your request can be done for the player and other actors. Practically speaking there won't be any new animations, so crawling, is a no go....as is using a weapon left handed. Technically, a good animator could do it, and all of the associated weapon animations (a whole lot of animations) that need to be done.....but in reality that's just not going to happen.

 

What I can do for (to) the player;

Prevent use of two handed weapons in their normal mode (at least all from FONV & DLCs, not user made mods) & make a two handed weapon, one handed and much slower.

Make a limb appear to be a bloody stump. Get rid of that bloody stump if a doctors bag is used and you have the limb in your inventory (or some other healing mechanism for major trauma....like an auto doc).

Bleeding damage until healed or you die.

Create (your) severed limb(s), by the player, to use as a weapon.......in case you feel the need to beat your enemy to death with it.

 

For NPC's it's possible to blow off a limb(s) and have them be still active (for a predetermined time until they bleed out) but it has some potential pitfalls if it's not done right (can cause CTD, and extra gibs may be visible hovering in, near or around the blown off limb).
