Please Help, Pixel-like low res Textures that are supposed to be 2K re

I've tried using Tamriel Reloaded Textures & Parallax, but I'm getting strange extremely low resolution pixellated textures, I've attached some random photos of this and some with ENB on and OFF. I've tried both the 1K and 2K versions and they are having the same problem. The ESP for Tamriel reloaded is near the bottom of my load order. The photos were taken in Solitude, but this is happening everywhere with textures from the mod, other textures don't seem to be experiencing this, for example Skyrim HD 2k's textures seem fine, but I would love to be able to use Tamriel Reloaded's instead.. I don't know if it's supposed to look like this..or perhaps its a parallax bug or something? I really have no idea. :ermm: If anyone could help me out that would be great thank you!

This Photo is a comparison with ENB on using Skyrim HD 2K textures instead, and just to note most of Skyrim HD 2K's files are usually half as much size as Tamriel Reloadeds.

Actually those all look like the same stone texture to me. It's possible that you've got one stubborn texture that's not being covered by that mod and next to all the high res textures, it looks even more horribly out of place. Maybe try installing a specific high def stone mod and then reinstalling the parallax mod. See if you still see those textures in the same place, if not - problem solved.

It's not just stone, it's ALL of Tamriel Reloaded's textures as far as I can tell. This includes the buildings in Solitude, posts, you name it, if this mod textures it, it is pixellated, except for most flat ground textures, and I think it's because you can't "stand" next to them to see the pixellation.

I updated my first post with comparisons to Skyrim HD 2k so you can see what I mean.

If I get within 1 or 2 feet away from something with Tamriel Reloaded installed it becomes extremely low res and pixelated. This does not happen with Skyrim HD 2k, I can get up close to examine something and it still is high definition. The oddest part is most of Skyrim HD 2K are almost twice as small in file size as Tamriel Reloadeds.

With Tamriel Reloaded I need to stand 10 feet away for something to look normal and not pixelated.

I'll do more comparison shots on request if you like.

  • 9 months later...

Almost a year later and I decided to try this texture mod again on a clean install of Skyrim with no other mods installed. All of these low resolution pixelated textures are still there. I noticed in some comments since I've posted this, that others have experienced the same thing and one person said they thought it was a bug as supposedly they didn't experience it before, but now after almost a year later I'm assuming these textures are intended to be low resolution quality and pixelated when standing near them. I really would like to use the textures from this mod, and if this is a bug it's worth fixing, but if it's not a bug then I'm not going to bother with this mod any longer. Any help would be appreciated, but I'm assuming not enough people have noticed this or care, it's likely a lot of people may even uninstall something without commenting about it or figuring out how to fix something without posting how they did it. Just to reiterate, the textures are totally fine until you get within 10 feet or so of them, and the closer you are the more pixellated and low resolution that they become, up until the default one foot or so standing width you have in Skyrim.

I have tamriel reloaded and don't have this bug. Do you have parallax installed? Did you optimize textures(you shouldn't)? What version did you install? The 2k option?

Thank you for replying. I'm really glad that someone else does not experience this. I've never optimized any textured at all, ever. I don't know what you mean by do I have parallax installed? Is there another mod I need to use with this one? If so that could be the reason I'm having this bug. I'm using Tamriel Reloaded for ENB 1.3 - FOMOD Installer http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/icons/magnifier.png And I also tried Tamriel Reloaded without ENB http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/icons/magnifier.pngand 2k textures http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/contents/images/icons/magnifier.png but it's the same with those as well.

From the description...did you do #4 ?

With ENB:
1- Download the Tamriel Reloaded for ENB and install via NMM or copying content into Skyrim/data folder and click "yes" when prompted.
2- Activate the Tamriel Reloaded.esp in NMM.
3- If you want to use any optional file, chose the file and copy TEXTURES folder or Tamriel.esp to Skyrim/data folder and click "yes" when prompted.
4- Edit enbseries.ini or enblocal.ini and set FixParallaxBugs=true
Did you install this mod? its in the description as recommended also...as Valkasha points out...
Some computers (mine) need a touch of (-) negative LOD, to have close -up texture be clear. in the IN-game menu for ENB you can adjust the LOD .

Yes it is set to true, but do I need project parallax remastered? I didn't install it, so that may be why I got the bugs if it's required? I know it says it's recommended but I didn't think it was required..

Edit: I've tried installing Static mesh improvement mod, then Vanilla Project Parallax Remastered and then Tamriel Reloaded, and then Project Parallax Remastered's Tamriel Reloaded Textures, but it didn't fix anything.., am I installing it in the wrong order? I also tried installing Static mesh improvement mod, then Tamriel Reloaded then vanilla Project Parallax Remastered and then Project Parallax Remastered's Tamriel Reloaded Textures, and that didn't work either..

All the photos are from Solitude yes. The rocks and ledge photos are inside Solitude near the crypt. The pole photo is at Solitude docks.
