I mean that there are more options that can be set for companion behaviour in the Tony_K mod I linked than are in the SoZ update (which is still more than you have currently). I personally find the SoZ ones to be enough, but others prefer more.

 

I can't say for sure that your specific bug will be fixed by the update, but I know that the update will prevent many other bugs from happening. And if it doesn't, I'm sure I can give you another code to enter that will get the plot back on track.

 

In addition to updating to the final version (1.23) I'd also recommend using the NWN2 client extension, which fixes even more bugs. https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/other/nwn2-client-extension
