[Request] Replacing mugs with drinking horns

I, for one, would love to see artistically carved drinking horns in the place of those boring, rusty metal mugs which Bethesda threw at us. With that I mean that all mugs in the game world would be replaced, including those in drinking animations. Personally I believe that by introducing drinking horns to Skyrim, it would add to the viking ambiente of the Nord culture quite a bit. That, and the thought of Nords using goat horns solely for helmets and candles always striked me as odd.

This mod idea can of course also be further expanded with the Hearthfires add-on in mind. For examble, players could perhaps craft their own special kinds of drinking horn placeables with cow horns, goat horns, dragon horns, or even horker and mammoth tusks. Some of those drinking horns could maybe have distinctive carvings on them to add to the variety. Just a thought.

Actually this would be pretty great. That thought has also crossed my mind many times. I agree that they should have something more in line with the era. My only disagreement is with ALL the mugs being replaced. Maybe reserve the horns/ tusks for upper-class homes/ player homes/ Jarl dwellings/ certain factions (namely Companions, of course)? It seems a bit too luxurious of an item for say, miners, to use in a typical tavern. If it does get done though, I hope the above design is used. It's amazing.

It's been two and a half years, has anything of the likes appeared yet? If not, I might just take up modelling and modding out of sheer frustration.

About the "replacing all" - I don't think horns are much more expensive than iron mugs. I'd think metal would be a bit more expensive than the game suggesets, and with goats running about everywhere without even having to dig in mines for it their horns should be more affordable, but that's a topic for an economy mod.

Even in vanilla skyrim the horns are worth just 5 septim compared to the 1 septim a tankard costs, so a couple undecorated horns with stands might well be affordable for most families (not as exclusive vessel maybe, one or two mixed in between normal cups to spice up the world a bit) , and inns could have something slightly fancier, with some decent carving (would double as identifying it as property of the inn to prevent theft, to add some sense to the stolen mechanic), richer people or, for example, hunters would have more intricately carved ones, perhaps made from cow horns or mammoth tusks, there could be (a) carver(s) travelling skyrim or working their craft in fixed locations who could carve goat/cow/dragon/horns or horker/mammoth tusks into drinking horns for a fee of course. Carved dragon horns would obviously not be available right from the start except maybe in some jarl's keep's who inherited it from their dragonslaying forefathers (or predecessors). Sky Haven Temple would naturally have some as well, and maybe the Companions too, and once the dragons have reappeared single horns would appear here and there, maybe only after you've killed a dragon with some companions who'll bring and carve trophies of later kills...

I'm just starting to see how complex this would become, and now I'm intrigued enough by my own ideas that I feel like I have to do them...

Anyways is there some mod already out there?
