Help with combining Ygnord and Apachii Hair to Follower/Npc

Sorry guys if this question has been asked countless times before, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around it.

I'm trying to combine the YgNord race of the EnchancedCharacter Edit Mod here: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/12951/?

with the Apachii Hairstyles Mod here: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/10168/?

through creating a new NPC through using the Creation Kit.

The only information I've been able to find is a small tutorial, that is in originally Japanese

I've tried various methods of merging the mods together mentioned in the previous tutorial and have gotten the race to work, but without the hair - and vice-versa.

Even trying to use the Alternate Actors mod ( http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/36047/?)

in order to create a different-looking follower, but to no avail.

I'm really stumped, as I see many other follower-mods who have successfully used both appearance-mods to create their own followers, so I know it's possible, I just have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone can offer any solutions it'd be greatly appreciated!
