custom weapons to custom NPC

So I've made a custom follower and I want her to start with the sicarius armor from masters of death, and the justiciar saber from Immersive weapons. Do I just load those files in the creation kit, make my follower mod file active, then create an outfit so she can use it as a standard? Because every time i load it back up (the follower.esp) in the kit only one item (because it's vanilla) is in her inventory. any help would be appreciated.
