I've seen perfectly good topics get full of vitriolic comments and I'm not going to allow a few people to ruin the moding experince for others on one of my pages.

*****************************************************************

I've added this forum topic to reduce clutter on the main SPS page. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19592

I'm also doing this as a way to promote discussion on the mod, and ideas for new groups that I might not have considered or topics for the interactions that I might not have thought of.

Before Commenting here please review the actual page (linked above) and read the readme on the page. I will totally ignore comments presenting ideas that I have already said thereon and therein that I won't do. That is final and non-negotiable.

For those people who have chosen to not take my advice and review the main page (you silly people you), I'll post a quick list of what is done, and what is pending.

Done:

Main SPS mod by Kie

Female Commoners by The Ozone Hole

Warriors, Knights & Crusaders by " "

Barbarians by " "

Farmers and Herders by " "

Nobles by " "

Pending:

Everyone else...

What I'm working on now is the remake of the main SPS mod. My plan is to turn it into a master file, making it easier to make the add-ons. By making it a master, I won't have to delete the greetings everytime I start an new mod, or re-write the scripts. All I'll have to do is use the existing system and re-write the dialogue exchanges to fit the new class or faction.

Current plans for the re-make:

I've decided to go through and make two, new, prostitution oriented classes for the player to choose from. They are going to be named Dancing Girl and angel (thats "Angel" spelled "W", "h", "o", "r", "e"). Dancing Girl will be stealth oriented with main skills focusing on Agility and Personality, and minor skills focusing on Speed. (I'll post the full list of Major/Minor skills for both later.) angel will be a combo Stealth/Magic class, Major skills will be Personality and Willpower based, and Minor skills will be Agility and Speed based.

I'll be adding a new, un-playable, class called Prostitute. This will be for the Prostitutes I'll be adding to the game world. You'll be able to find them in most taverns, and in a few other places. This is to give Male Player Characters something to do with the mod. There will be different dialogue for both Male and Female characters, but the Prostitutes will only be female. The Prostitues will be of various races, (no beast races or orcs, sorry) but the majority will be Dunmer. Prostitutes WILL NOT sleep with beast races. Sorry again, but I'm trying to keep this true to Morrowind Lore and what we can see in game. The dialogue topic for the Prostitutes will be "Sex", found first under the "Services" dialogue, which I'll be writing from scratch.

Something ComVlad proposed got me thinking. I'm going to require the player to talk to an existing Prostitute before the option to work becomes avalible. I'll expain more later.

In addition to the Male Commoners from the main SPS mod, I'll be adding Female Commoners from my add-on into the master file. This is to save time and space down the road. As files are completted, they will be removed from the SPS page and replaced with the new version. The original SPS mod will be left up as an "Old File" out of respect for Kie.

I think that wraps up this update, if I've forgotten anything I'll post it here.

No, the other new class won't really be named Angel. That is the Forums censoring at work.

Edit: Personal opinion, but the censoring is going a bit far. If people don't like to see the naughty words, they don't have to read in the forums to download mods. Like I said, just my opinion.

Also, please speak up! I want other people to input on the mod, getting user input is the best way to make a mod that is fun for more than one person (that one being the author). If a whole bunch of people tell me that they really want me to work on a specific class next, I can move that class or faction to the top of my "to do" list. As it is I'm just working on whatever comes to mind.

New classes are always welcome (at least by those who are too lazy to write a decent custom class description but still want one-ie me). By the way I recall you saying that the next new addition after nobles were supposed to be monks but is there any chance you might do the thieves guild and/or the comonna tong as the first post remake addition? The relative lack of various vice trading in the 2 main criminal groups have always bugged the heck out of me. I also noticed you mention in one of the older readme's that you wanted to stop warrior class Legion members from propositioning the PC if she was a member herself and intented to do so by changing the Legion to be its own class, as a possible alternative I noticed that one of possible dialogue variables is Function->Same Faction that will probably do the job without the class change. The example I've noticed uses it to trigger a thief to respond "Advancement? No way you could do that unless you want to join the Thieves Guild." to (presumably) a not-thief asking.

 See? Preference expressed, noted, and order changed! YEAH! *Stars and Sparkels*

Okay, I can do the Comonna Tong next. The Morag Tong is a strictly Assassin guild, so they alread trade in the vice of death. I could add all the prostitutes to the Comonna Tong, but I'd prefer to have them as more "independent operators." What I was going to do is add in both Prostitute Merchants and Trainers (no sex from either of these, they'd tell you to look up a regualar Prostitute who would be near by). I can add them as members of the CT.

As to the Legion, I'm going to make a Legion specific add-on. It will change the members of the Legion to a Legion Class system (possibly multiple classes, maybe just one, no decision yet) that will have different dialogue depending on whether or not the PC is a member of the Legion. Thanks for the idea ComVlad. I'll expand upon that even more and make the Factions really special by adding dialogue based on whether or not the player is a member of the faction (not major differences, just a few).

I've reviewed the original text by Kie, and I see why you're having problems with the basic interaction for the nobles. Kie made the low level (ie the script 1 interaction) play off the choice of "Go with Him" and then added the global : Random100 <= ## interactions in for 2, 3, & 4. Not only that, but 3 & 4 have an equal chance of appearing, where as I tried to give each one a chance and based it off the numbers. I'll need to go back into nobles and make some more changes.

Update for the main mod:

I've got the classes sorted (I'll be posting the skill lists below), I'm currently working on the dialogue for the Prostitutes. I'll repeat myself in saying that if you play as an Argonian, Khajiit or Orc, you will be refused sex (rather rudely) and it will end the conversation with a BIG drop in the Prostitutes disposition. Also, these Prostitutes work the same way the Player prostitution does, you must have a Personality of 35 or greater, though you don't have to be female. There are two sets of "My Trade" dialogue, one for females and one for males. The one you get will, naturally, depend on the gender of the player character. The scripts for the Prostitutes are done, it was just a matter of renaming them and changing "player->additem" to "player->removeitem"; also the fatigue drops have been cut in half.

Dancing Girl: Stealth

Major Skills: Minor Skills:

Sneak Restoration

Short Blade Marksman

Speechcraft Mercantile

Unarmored Light Armor

Security Acrobatics

"Angel": Magic (Again, the name isn't really Angel, its just that the censors won't let me post it.)

Major Skills: Minor Skills:

Destruction Short Blade

Restoration Sneak

Alteration Alchemy

Mercantile Unarmored

Speechcraft Acrobatics

There are no Combat oriented classes for this. I felt that it would be less than correct to have one of the females who is supposted to be spending most of her time in cities and towns, engaged in what some might call "morally dubious behavior," running around smashing people over the head. Both classes have two forms of combat (Marksman, Shortblade & Destruction) and two forms of protection (Unarmored, Light Armor & Alteration). I feel that this is plenty for the player to get on with. Any player should be able to use one of these classes to complete the game, start to finish, without engaging in said "MDB." Because of the way I have intergrated (I hope, I hope, I hope) the interactions into the game, the only evidence the player should even see of the overt nature of the mod is the increased number of NPCs, and a journal entry. In short, if you download the mod, and don't want the extra "Adult" content, you don't have to use it (why you would do that is totally beyond me, but whatever). I'm going to try and find some Prostitute approperate clothing and ask the creator if I can use it, but that will be done last.

Whats left for the main mod:

Finish dialogue for Prostitutes (tonight) ------ Done!

Re-add deleted dialogue for Male commoners (tonight) ------ Done!

Add dialogue for female commoners (tonight/tomorrow) ------ Done!

Create Prostitute NPCs (Tomorrow) ------ Done!

Place said NPCs (This week) See further updates below.

Clothing ------ Done! (In the sense that I've got it working. Now I just need to finish adding it.)

Make the mod a master (Possibly before previous) (When the rest is done!)

Just so people know, I'm adding the "you've been paid" message as a message box generated by the scripts. This is to save me space for more action in the dialogue.

I actually prefer having prostitutes as independent operators as well as opposed to being part of an existing faction. What I meant by vice trade was more of a general control/overseeing (so pretty much the merchant/trainer approach you described) as well as just more general evidence of being outside the law and of antisocial behavior. Particular for the CT with their anti-imperial leaning and fairly blatant racism/nationalism but I thought that the thieves guild was a bit too clean as well...the blades might not have minded them that much but they were still criminals damn it!!

Sure they're criminals, but I'm make prostitutes, not a Theives Guild overhaul, lol. The thing with the CT is that I need to make two--no, three--sets of dialogue. One for if your character is a Dark Elf, one for if the player is a non-Dark Elf, non-Beast race; and one for if you are playing a beast race. The last one really is the easiest, as it will mostly consits of them telling you to &*#k off. I think that what I'll do is have the Dunmer Prostitute merchants and trainers be members of the CT, and they will only trade with Dunmer. (The mix for all groups will be about 50-50, depending on location.)

Not really a Spoiler, but more of a give away follows:

The number of prostitutes will vary around Vvanderfell, the majority will be in the western half, with only the Telvanni having the fewist. Sadrith Mora will have a prostitute and a merchant in the tavern by the fort, and Vos will get a prostitute and a trainer. (SM has an Imperial fort, and Tel Vos is home to

your Telvanni sponser

so that is the reasoning for those.) Most of the rest of the Telvanni don't seem (to me) to be overly tollerant of the trade or of anything they precieve of as Imperial.

House Hallu, being the most "Imperialized" of the great houses, has accepted the idea without quam, and suppports it fully. I.e. lots of prostitutes in Hallu towns. Balmora, Ebonheart and Vivec City in particular. Redoran don't really care either way, they enjoy it, but a greater number here will be Dunmer than other races.

Due to my horrid memory, and my general lazyness of going back a re-reading what I've written, I'll say again (I assume) that there will not be any Beast race prostitutes of any type.

The Prostitute trainers are supposted to train in Acrobatics, however, since the training system for Morrowind is different than the one in Oblivion, I don't know if I can assign which skills are trained. The merchants only buy and sell Picks, Probes, and Potions. This is done for two reasons: 1) balance, they aren't your buy any and everything girls, they are there to provide a specific service for the people they know and their fellow prostitutes (no, there are no restrictions on making use of them...yet). 2) Due to the number of times that I have gotten a common disease or had my Fatigue drop really low when I was "working" I felt it would be good to have a group of merchants with a specific set of supplies, namely cure common disease, restore health and restore fatigue potions. Amounts will be reasonable (10 of each) but they won't be the best kind, just basic potions.

Also, the Trainers and Merchants don't offer sex services, (again, I think I've said this) but will direct you to a normal prostitute.

Oh yes, before I forget. I will NOT be adding prostitues to areas added by either Tribunal or Bloodmoon. I'll be making those as add-ons later, this keeps the base mod as Morrowind only so more people can use it. I'm trying out the two mod added "Tamerial Rebuilt" or something like that, can't remember. I don't currently plan on adding to those areas as they are not my work and are still being worked on by the team making them. I feel I've got enough to do, between work on SPS, SPS -- Oblivion, and some work for Fallout 3 including work on the Wasteland Player mod.

Edit: Also, I'm not going to try and think up names for the prostitutes. In some ways this does keep with immersion, and some ways doesn't. What really sealed the deal is that Morrowind Comes Alive doesn't bother to find names for all the NPCs it adds, so I'm going to save myself the headache and follow that pattern.

Edit: Due to the horrible heads that BethSoft created (biggest flaw in MW if you ask me) I've gone hunting for some head replacers to use on the Prostitutes. Big thanks to Rhedd, Zuldazug and Emma for their work on heads. Big thanks to Dereko (I don't know if the Dereko I'm thanking is the one on TESNexus or not) for the Loincloth & Tops pack for Morrowind. If anyone is using the "World of Faces" mod the meshes and textures will overwrite; however, since I kept the file structure the same the heads should still work fine. To avoid conflicts I've made the heads unplayable for the player! If you are using another mod that adds these heads it will not be affected due to the unique names and numbers I've given them!

Change of plans; I found some really, really nice female Orc heads here on the Nexus. Pending (much hoped for) permission from the author, I will make an Orc add-on. {"What's the catch?"} The catch is that the Orc females will only prostitute themselves for Orc males (and other Orc females). The logic and "realism" behind it is this: Orcs are just as horny as the men and mer, but since no non-orc (save the occasional Dunmer) would willingly engage in copulation with an orc, the answer is Orc Prostitutes. However, those prostitutes are just as picky and, knowing how little people like them, won't...ah...spread the love.

As this is an add-on rather than part of the main mod, I've got most of the heads I need, or at least I can put up with what I've got. Also I was able to find some, ah...job correct clothing, for the prostitutes so a big thank you to Dereko.

:wallbash: I forgot that I don't know how Better Bodies clothing works, (Better Bodies is now required), so I've asked Dereko for help with that.

Prostitutes have four "levels" that are visible based on their style of dress. The lowest level have on a common loincloth and nothing else. The second level have on a common loincloth and common bra. The third have on an expensive loincloth and bra, and the forth have on a traslucent expensive loincloth and bra. All the garments come in two colors, black and white. The traslucent stuff only comes in black. I will add the common clothing to the stuff that is sold at the House of Earthly Delights.

The list of prostitutes and their locations (and a tentitive list of races in order) follows:

(All locations a precieded by who "controls" the area, a "T" stands for Trainer, & an "M" stands for Merchant.)

Legion, Dagon Fel: 1 (Dunmer)

Telvanni, Vos: 1 & 1T (Dunmer)

Telvanni, Sadrith Mora: 1 & 1M (Imperial, Dunmer)

Temple, Molag Mar: 1 (Breton)*

Legion, Ebonheart: 4 & 1M (Breton, High Elf, Nord, Redguard, Imperial)

Legion, Seyda Neen: 1 (Wood Elf)

Legion, Pelagiad: 2 & 1T (Imperial, Redguard, Imperial)

Hlaalu, Dren Plantation: 2 (Dunmer)**

Hlaalu, Suran: 1 (Wood Elf)

Legion, Fort Moonmoth: 1 (Nord)

Hlaalu, Blamora: 1 per tavern, 1 per manor house, 2 on streets

Temple, Ghost Gate: 2 & 1M & 1T (Dunmer)***

Hlaalu, Gnaar Mok: 1 (Redguard)

Redoran, Ald'Ruhn: 1 per tavern, 1 per manor, 3 on streets****

Redoran, Maar Gan: 1 (Breton)

Legion, Gnisis: 2 (Dunmer, Imperial)

Legion, Fort Darius: 1 & 1T (High Elf, Imperial)

Vivec City:

Foreign Quarter: 1 per tavern, 1 Merchant, 2 walking

Telvanni: 1 (Dunmer)

Redoran: 2 (Dunmer)

Hlaalu: 1 per tavern, Curio manor, 1 Trainer, 3 walking

St. Delyn: 1*

St. Olms: 1*

Temple: None

* All these locations are Temple controlled and prostitution is forbidden. However, that doesn't mean that prostitutes aren't there, they have simply gone undergound (check the cannals and wasteworks).

** Dren Plantation has two, one outside by the workers who is a lowest level prostitute, and a third level prostitute inside. The latter is for the use of Dren and his flunkies, and won't go with the player.

(If I can get the scripts to work with out MWSE, I'll fix that is that if Dren is killed (No, I don't mean Duke Dren!) she will work the player.)

*** The Ghost Gate is the only place where the Temple will allow Prostitutes to work openly, this is only due to the number of lay members and non-Temple members going through there. (Plus they can take a cut of what the girls make as a bribe. Sush, don't tell anyone!)

**** The manor exception is that of Archmagister Venim.

Streets will always be lowest level; taverns will get second or third level depending on how "nice" the place is; Manors will get third or forth level. Forth level will only show up in Manors, first level might show up in really seedy taverns or in places out of the way. Forts get second or third level. There are currently two different prostitutes per race with Dunmer and Imperial having two extra for Merchants and Trainers. More will be added if needed.

Faces are added to the girls, & none should be useable by the player. I'll do some placement and testing now; &, hopefully, finish placement tomorrow. After the clothing issue is solved, all that is left is to add the clothing (why the Better Bodies textures arn't showing up in the CS I don't know, they used to). After that just some testing and it should be smooth until I make the master and release. Two weeks tops, unless there is a coding foul up or something else goes FUBAR.
