The Mantis Posted August 19, 2003 Share Posted August 19, 2003 I need to complain. There are some things on this site that are stupid and pointless. 1- Change username: my previous name was _Thomas. And I would like to change it back. But for soem stupid reason I have to "buy it" this is bull crap. We should have the right to change it whenever we like. :angry: 2- This flooding nonsense: I should also have the right to post whenever I want. But again for some stupid reason I have to "buy it". :rolleyes: 3-Moderators: I feel that the moderators are slacking off. In fact I am on this site more than they are. And I have been correcting people when they break the site rules. <_< 4-Quiz: I have never taken a quiz. But for some stupid reason it says quiz closed. :( I am aware that I am asking for trouble. But I had to let that out of my system. Again feel free to curse me out and put me in my place. But the only reason I even go to this site anymore is for my RP story buddys. It makes you want to work for certain privledges like changing usernames and titles. If everyone could just change a user name when they wanted to no one would know who anyone else was. 2. I believe that flood control helps to stop internet overload, where so many people are continuously posting that the forums get blocked up. The ablility to buy no flood control is another benefit of gold. 3. I think the mods are doing a good job of regulating the forums. You don't need to correct every single mistake a person makes, spam yes, but thats not that big of a problem here. There have been a few piracy threads but they were shut down. 4. You want a new one, you make a new account and start over.2) Flood control is only 60 seconds! If you're trying to make posts so fast that you see it very often, you're spamming too much.3) I disagree... there isn't much happening on this forum that needs mod attention. And as for time spent, that's why there's a "report" function... so they don't have to spend 24 hours a day watching for trouble.4) Don't know about making new quizes, but I'd assume the old one's closed to stop answer sharing. And I have been correcting people when they break the site rules. <_<I have only seen Dark0ne and Theta Orionis doing moderating, probably the Admin picked some friends to be mods, however apprantly those friends have other things to do. Dark0ne has said there might be a new quiz. On a side note, the flood control, can it be set to check whenever you actually make the post, so we can already start writing a message without having to wait a full 60 seconds? Anyhow- Point one- Changing usernames- I've seen one other grouping of forums for this, and it irritated and annoyed me to no end (title changing to a much lesser extent.). Point two- Flood control- This forum runs on gold, hence, if you can flood, you can amass huge amounts of gold in a short amount of time posting stupid inane crap. I see no problem with earning the right to bypass flood control. Point three- Moderators- You can buy mod-ship on 2 seperate forums, why not do that and quit yer bellyaching?
