NickJones Posted August 22, 2003 Share Posted August 22, 2003 In building up your armorer skill, is it better to use the low-level armorer's tools until you get good, or will using the higher level tools help your skill increase faster? I'd like to know, since I don't want to pay for the more expensive tools if they're not helping me better than the cheaper ones. Pob Posted August 22, 2003 Share Posted August 22, 2003 I generally use journey man tools (that I buy) if I find other stuff I pick it up and use it, but keep the high end stuff and use the lower stuff. At high levels you only really need journey mans anyway, It seems to do the job. tmons78 Posted August 22, 2003 Share Posted August 22, 2003 to save yourself money on purchasing the hammers, just use this trick: use a journeyman's hammer (that's all i've ever used) until it has only 1 use left out of 20. then sell it back to a trader for like 1 septim. i found that the guy in balmora's fighters guild works best for this. then you can purchase that same hammer that says it only has 1 use for the same 1 septim. however, when you buy it back from him, it's been magically restored to having all 20 uses again. then rinse, and repeat. that way you won't have to spend a fortune anyways purchasing armorer's tools.
