Mod Order Issues (Dragon Souls/Hearthfire Home Issues)

Hello all,

Each time I get my game to working order, something tips the balance and I'm back trying to fix it. Right now I'm at a loss for what to do and I don't want to risk losing the fruits of a 100+ hour game.

I was fine with just the unofficial patches until Hearthfire came out. When I realized that none of the weapon racks/cases/etc in Hearthfire worked, I found a patch to fix the problem, but I didn't know where to put it in the load order. That's when I learned about BOSS and TES5Edit.

(Note: I think the patch was this one, but I'm not sure. I downloaded it again to make sure and the .esp file does not match the ones I have currently).

So I watched a tutorial and applied both programs to my mods and was amazed at how many conflicts TES5 found. BOSS put my mods in a really strange load order, found here, but it seemed to work well. Success!

...until I installed Dragonborn. Lo and behold, I was now unable to absorb dragon souls. I read up online that this was a common problem with the unofficial dragonborn patch. The latest update, though, says it should have fixed the problem. I updated all my unofficial patch files just to be safe, but the problem still exists.

I'm guessing that this is another mod order problem - the updates to the unofficial patches probably changed things. Before I run TES5 and BOSS again, potentially re-ordering my mods, I wanted to ask if I'm missing anything. What do you think?

The last time I messed with the mod order, I locked out everything I had placed in display cases in my houses and I'm afraid if I do it again the same thing will happen. Last time I just reverted to a save from before I built the Hearthfire homes, but now that's a lot of hours of gameplay in the past and I'd rather not have to do that again.

I've also seen this piece of advice:

"Then check your Skyrim/Data/Scripts folder for a file called "dragonactorscript.pex".

If it's there, delete it. See if that fixes your issue."

But I don't have a "Scripts" folder, so I can't give this option a try. I know it's a stupid question, but am I supposed to have a scripts folder?

Thanks for the help.
