Dark Souls II?

Has anyone tried modding it yet? Is it as modable as DS1? I love the mods for the first one, especially the fixes and immersion mods.

If the answer is yes to my previous questions, do you think that we would be getting NMM support for it?

Yes. There's already a Dark Souls 2 version of DSFIX in open-alpha, link at the bottom. It allows exactly the same kind of texture mods as seen in the previous game, in addition to significantly enhancing the graphics and reliability.

As for other mods, they'll be entirely reliant on the one I've linked. Other forms of modding aren't possible with this sort of code, atleast not within any reasonable timeframe. Perhaps given 2-3 years you could hack into the core code, write some new software and create an SDK but right now Gedosato is literally our only (somewhat limited) option.

So you're looking for mods for dark Souls 2? well right now there's only one of them, but it is a damn good one. Gedosato is basically DSfix for Dark Souls 2, and was even made by the same developer, it may be the only mod but alteast it's got serious potential.

Awesome! Thank you much for the reply, and for the links. I am absolutely in awe of the things people can do, and in all of the potential to make the games we love even better. I know the PC version of DS2 was built so that it wasn't a "port" so much as the first one, but you'll never see me turn down a texture mod pack for any game I own lol.

Mods are, in my opinion, the nail in the coffin on the PC vs Console debate, because modders can make the games go so far beyond the original scope of the game, that it is almost unfair to even make comparisons. I have a huge amount of respect for modders, and all of the coders, artists, and everyone else that comes together to bring the mods to life.

I can't wait to see what comes next for this game. If there is already a DS2Fix program, it makes me VERY excited when I think about the possibilities!
