[REQUEST] Green Pact Alchemy book

Hey all. I think I have pretty sweet idea for a useful mod.

I roleplay a bosmer that keeps to the Green Pact, and, to put it simply, alchemy is kind of a b&@*$. It's a b&@*$ in the vanilla game, but now take away half the ingredients you can use. It provides some pretty interesting takes on what you can actually do and is fun, but I digress.

Recently, there was a mod released called the Alchemist Compendium (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51077/?) and it basically just compiled all the ingredients in Skyrim with all their effects and even pictures. Simply, it's cool and useful.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make a mod akin to the one mentioned above for those that adhere to Y'ffre.

The hard part has actually already been done here: http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/profiles/blogs/green-pact-alchemy

This guy has went through and not only listed the effects and ingredients, but also shows if they are from one of the DLC packs or not. Big kudos for him.

I appreciate your responses and happy gaming

Ah, the Skyrim Blog! RuneRed (the author) is a friend of mine over there, so I'll be happy to attempt this! Might not be as pretty as the above mod, however...

Awesome! I appreciate the reply.

Aesthetics aren't really a big deal for what I'm looking for, so that's fine

I just intend to use it as a utility so I can stop wasting ingredients and streamline my leveling of alchemy a bit.

Thanks again for the reply, looking forward to it

Also: I think it'd be cool to make the book using the journal skin. It would give it a realistic pocket guide vibe, but that's just nitpicking ha

For anyone's future reference: http://tesmods.blogspot.com/2012/02/tutorial-creating-new-book.html

This is a pretty foolproof guide to adding your own book to skyrim. I, who has absolutely no experience, was able to make what I requested in under 20 minutes.

Although, this guide does not show you how to add the book to the world/leveled list and can only be obtained by adding it to your inventory via console. Useful nontheless :) enjoy!

Working on it right now, incase anyone still cares. I'm trying to think of a lore friendly way to integrate it into skyrim right now. Got like a rough concept of a bosmer being forced by circumstances to leave Valenwood and useing the Green Pact as a sort of way to stay conected to his homeland. If anyone has an idea for a reason this bosmer left pls help me out.

@Oga27 I mean basically a Bosmer could have fled Valenwood, due to the Thalmor banning the Green Pact. He fled to Skyrim, to get as far away as possible from the Thalmor rule and as there is a civil war going on in Skyrim that creates chaos, it is the best place?

And not only can the Green Pact be a way of staying semi-atuned with his homeland, but he sees it as a sort ofrebellion against the Thalmor. Or maybe he was prosecuted by a Thalmor Patrol in Valenwood and his family died (which could be used as a motiv for the Bosmer to hate the Thalmor and actually oppose them (although the Thalmor considering the Green Pact as heresy could be enough as motiv. Maybe create a seprate journal and place it in the same location as the "hanfbook" that explains this. Just some Ideas.

I would like to have this mod! I too play as a Bosmer.

Why not have the book along with a personal journal and a few other items placed on a dead Bosmer, and placed some where in the Rift? The personal journal could explain that the dead Bosmer wanted to return to his roots by following the Green Pact, so he spent the past few years collecting Skyrim's ingredients and kept a book on them and their effects.

Maybe the body can be placed in an animal den some where.
