Final tri count will be just a little over a vanilla set. Female set will be almost identical. If this goes well I'll like to do more armors, will need to make some average joe sets for npcs.

To do:

  • Finish every part of the armour
  • Bump maps and textures in Zbrush (Never really got the hang of this program, should be interesting)
  • Belt with accessories
  • Tabard, cape and surcoat variants
  • Helm open variant
  • Heavy Variant
  • Skin model

This is something I have wanted since I got skyrim on PC. i've been trying to do research on making armors. Maybe once I become more familiar with modding (If I ever) we could collaborate on a mod that delivers many new realistic armors. Hauberks are a favorite. There was also this plate armor I can't find right now that had subtle ridges. The cap was a front brimmed helm with a rear neck guard. Seemed like something fit for a moderately wealthy hold where it would've been slightly warmer than winterhold. Maybe a riften soldier. Anyway, I'll continue with my endeavors and if our paths cross I'll be sure to give you a heads up.

PS- My ultimate goal is to edit Skyrim to resemble a more realistic medieval setting. Architecture, culture, and armaments.

We think alike! Hauberks are cool, I was thinking of doing a crusades style set. Medium armor could be a Spatarn hoplite with bronze greaves chest and helm. Roman lorica segmentata would be neat too.

Sorry, I wanted to reply with an update, this will probably take me a few weeks, It will go quicker if I can find someone good with the creation kit who would like to do that part of the mod, this is also being made as a madders resource :)

It hasn't changed much on the outside but I turned into mostly a single mesh instead of bits and pieces, sitting at 9,200 triangles, I'd like to pump another 1000 improving shoulders and gloves and knees, then its off to Zbrush for all those ridges and details in the armor, then some paint and it should look closer to final. The sword has 1150 triangles, about the same as an ebony two hander, I'm going to get a normal map for that in Zbrush as well. I'll be making some other weapons and a shield or two for this release.
